Aubrie Sellers

When she released her debut album, New City Blues, in 2016, Aubrie Sellers called her brand of Americana "garage country" -- a fitting term that conveys how she marries country form with guitars that either create a racket or spin a picturesque atmosphere. Sellers' sweet voice provided a nice contrast to her moody rockers and ballads, a style she expanded on her 2020 album Far from Home, then exploded in 2021 with Breaking Point, a record she made in collaboration with Jade Jackson.The daughter of country star Lee Ann Womack and Jason Sellers, a songwriter and guitarist best known for his work with Ricky Skaggs, Aubrie Sellers was born on February 12, 1991. She began playing music professionally in her early twenties, making her first prominent recorded appearance duetting with her mother on the Ralph Stanley album Ralph Stanley and Friends: A Man of Constant Sorrow in 2015. The following year, Sellers released her debut album, New City Blues, through Thirty Tigers. Produced by her stepfather, Frank Liddell, New City Blues garnered acclaim, setting the stage for the 2020 release of Far from Home, which reunited her with Liddell. An indie release, Far from Home snagged Sellers two Americana Music Honors & Awards nominations: one for Emerging Act of the Year, another for Song of the Year. After issuing World on Fire, a covers EP featuring moody versions of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" and Dwight Yoakam's "A Thousand Miles from Nowhere," in the summer of 2020, Sellers duetted with Ryan Culwell for a 2021 cover of "Head Like a Hole" by Nine Inch Nails. Later in 2021, she teamed with fellow Americana singer Jade Jackson to form Jackson & Sellers, releasing their debut album, Breaking Point, on Anti- that October.
