Brad Tursi

As lead guitarist and co-songwriter for Nashville outfit Old Dominion, Brad Tursi has notched a clutch of chart-topping hit singles that straddle the line between country, pop, and soft rock. Like his bandmates Matt Ramsey and Trevor Rosen, Tursi started his Nashville career writing for others before combining forces to become one of the most successful country bands of the late 2010s. A versatile guitarist and harmony singer, he also co-authored number one singles like "Break Up with Him," "One Man Band," and "Memory Lane." In 2024, he launched a concurrent solo career with his debut album, Parallel Love.Born in Connecticut, Tursi's first brush with success came as the guitarist for Virginia alt-rockers Army of Me, who recorded for Atlantic in the 2000s. He eventually made his way to Nashville and worked both as a guitarist for hire and as a songwriter, penning hits for Kenny Chesney ("Save It for a Rainy Day"), Luke Bryan ("Light it Up"), and others. In 2012, he teamed up with Ramsey and Rosen to form Old Dominion, a country-rock quintet of industry veterans who could both play and write. They scored a hit right out of the gate with "Break Up with Him," a single they later included on their 2015 RCA Nashville debut, Meat and Candy. As freelance songwriters, Tursi and his bandmates helped launch the bro-country movement, though their own material was ultimately softer and more sentimental. By the end of the 2010s, Old Dominion was a highly decorated unit with seven number ones to their credit, most of them co-written by their lead guitarist.Their success carried into the next decade with platinum-selling songs like 2021's "I Was On a Boat That Day" and 2023's "Memory Lane." By 2024, Tursi had amassed a group of songs that fell outside of his primary band's purview. Skewing more toward introspective and folk-based material, the ten tracks on Parallel Love, his solo debut, marked a new chapter in the career of this versatile artist.
