Gina Breeze

Drawing inspiration from the many hot spots in England she's called home -- including her base in Manchester, a deep well of dance-music culture known the world over -- Gina Breeze makes percussive house music that's gained a growing following among ravers and club connoisseurs. She's performed sets alongside greats like Marshall Jefferson and Errol Alkan and earned notice for her 2024 single "Lose Control," released on South Korean deep house act Peggy Gou's label Gudu Records.Breeze's musical evolution can be traced to a production course she took in Sheffield; while learning the basics of engineering and layering beats, she adopted a sort of low-end attack inspired by the city's club culture. She first made a mark in 2009, when she scored a regular residency at the Leeds club SpeedQueen. She'd ultimately perform sets at clubs across Europe and America before settling down in Manchester, where she began a residency at the queer club HomoElectric.Early singles from Breeze date back to 2016 and include tenures with dance labels like Get Up Recordings (2016's Crystal Black, 2018's "Pressure," 2021's "Feels"), He.She.They. ("Check Yourself," released in 2021, and 2024's In My Mind EP), and Edible (Feel My Nrg, a collaborative 2022 EP with Alissa Brianna and Lulah Francs, and 2024's Notre Maison EP). Other standouts include 2024"s “Shadows,” a team-up with Sophie Joy, and Breeze's two singles on Gudu, "Rebound" and "Lose Control." Breeze has also taken her HomoElectric residency even wider, as part of the LGBTQ+-friendly annual festival HomoBloc.
