LF System

Scottish DJ duo LF System produce exuberant house anthems that draw heavily from vintage disco and soul. They were responsible for one of the biggest U.K. hits of 2022, "Afraid to Feel," which spent eight consecutive weeks on top of the pop charts.Originally from West Lothian, Conor Larkman and Sean Finnigan met while playing DJ sets at Edinburgh club FLY. The duo started uploading disco edits, DJ mixes, and original tracks to SoundCloud during the late 2010s, and eventually began officially releasing material in 2020, starting with the single "Weekend in Berlin." "Dancing Cliché," their debut single for Warner, appeared in 2021. The track was based on the Main Ingredient and Cuba Gooding's version of the Luther Vandross-written "Party People." "So Do You," a hybrid of acid house and disco, appeared in early 2022. LF System's next single, "Afraid to Feel," sampled Silk's 1979 song "I Can't Stop (Turning You On)" (sung by Louise Clare Marshall), and included several tempo shifts. The track became an unexpected hit, gaining major club and radio play, and climbing to number one in July. It eventually spent eight weeks at the top, earning a platinum certification, and was remixed by David Guetta and Armand Van Helden. "Hungry (For Love)," based on "Hungry" by Sandy's Gang, followed in October.
