As Saveus, Copenhagen-based singer/producer Martin Hoberg Hedegaard makes heartfelt music that combines alternative rock, soul, and electronic elements with his pop expertise. He became a pop star when he won the first series of X Factor Danmark when he was just 15, but after releasing his multi-platinum debut album Show the World in 2008, he took a more mature and authentic direction with his work as Saveus. The 2015 single "Levitate Me" introduced this moodier, more sophisticated approach, paving the way for 2018's platinum-selling debut album Neuro and 2022's Rainman, which was a Top Five hit in Denmark. Born in Ørum, Denmark in 1992, Hedegaard had his first brush with fame when he won the inaugural Danish series of The X Factor at age 15. He released 2008's Show the World under his own name; though the album went triple platinum in Denmark, he spent several years refining his skills as a songwriter and producer. He wrote many songs for K-pop groups in the mid-2010s, including Super Junior's "Black Suit," Girls Generation's "Galaxy Supernova," and EXO's "El Dorado," some of which were among his first credits as Saveus. Hedegaard also worked on his music at this time, making his live debut as Saveus with a performance of his first single "Levitate Me" at the 2015 P3 Guld, the award show of Danish radio station P3. Replacing his old pop idol style with a darker, anthemic electronic sound, the single was picked as Song of the Week by P3. Saveus supported "Levitate Me" by touring with Years & Years throughout Europe. Another single, "Everchanging," arrived in 2016 and was followed by the EP Will Somebody Save Us in 2017. Featuring both of Saveus' previous singles, the EP hit number five on the Danish charts. Another of his 2017 singles, "Watch the World," was featured on Elton John's Rocket Hour radio show. Saveus' debut album Neuro appeared in May 2018 and reached number five in Denmark, ultimately attaining platinum status. Two years later, Hedegaard contributed the single "Traitors" to the film The Marco Effect. Saveus' second full-length Rainman arrived in late 2022. Three years in the making, the album concentrated on Hedegaard's vocals and piano; like Neuro, it peaked at five on his homeland's charts.
