Coline Rio

French singer Coline Rio is known for her delicately rendered and artful pop. She initially distinguished herself as the lead singer of the electro-pop group INUÏT before going solo with 2023's Ce qu'il restera de nous and her 2024 EP Ce qui nous lie.Hailing from Nantes, France, Rio started playing piano at age six. By her teens, she was singing and writing songs, drawing inspiration from classic French pop artists like Jacques Brel and Françoise Hardy, along with alt-pop acts like Bon Iver. At age 17, Rio joined the Nantes electro-pop outfit INUÏT, appearing on their 2018 debut album, Action. The group eventually went on hiatus to allow Rio to pursue a solo career with the release of her 2022 EP Lourd et délicat, which featured her originals alongside covers of classic songs like Anne Sylvestre's "Les Gens qui doutent" and Michel Legrand's "Les Moulins de mon cœur." In 2023, she released her full-length debut, Ce qu'il restera de nous, which featured production by Stan Neff. A deluxe version of the album followed soon after. Rio returned in 2024 with the EP Ce qui nous lie, mixing covers and originals with featured guests including Voyou, Trio SR9, Emily Loizeau, and Barbara Pravi.
