Dabin

Dabin's productions span house, drum'n'bass, dubstep, pop punk, and more, and though he's typically classified as an EDM artist, much of his output is song-based, made in collaboration with an assortment of highly expressive vocalists. The Korean-Canadian multi-instrumentalist appeared in 2012 and developed a following with singles like "Electropolitics" and "Awakening" before he released 2017's Two Hearts, his Juno-nominated debut album. In 2019, the year he issued his follow-up, Wild Youth, he scored one of his biggest hits as a featured collaborator on Seven Lions' "First Time." The introspective, quarantine-inspired Between Broken (2021) and heartache-fueled Aura Park (2025) have seen the Denver-based musician further hone his songwriting for deep emotional resonance.Raised in Toronto, Dabin Lee developed an early interest in music, learning guitar, piano, and drums. Near the end of his teens, he picked up electronic music production, and not long after, in 2012, he released his first commercial tracks with Kannibalen Records. The difference between his first two singles, "Electropolitics" (electro-house) and "Awakening" (dubstep), indicated from the start that Dabin wouldn't be associated with a particular style. Dabin stuck to singles and EPs over the next few years, during which his audience grew with tracks such as "Mirrormask," the Jill Harris-assisted "Embers," and especially nuanced collaborations with Daniela Andrade, namely "Heartbeats," "Touch," and "Hold." The latter led the way to (and was featured on) Dabin's first album, Two Hearts, released in 2017. Very well received, Two Hearts was nominated for Electronic Album of the Year at the Juno Awards the following year. Meanwhile, Dabin was also a touring guitarist for close associate Illenium, and he teamed with Seven Lions, Dylan Matthew, and Slander for "First Time," his most popular co-production. Having signed with Seeking Blue Records, Dabin closed out the decade with second full-length Wild Youth, which was highlighted by collaborations with Dia Frampton ("Bloom"), Olivia Ridgely ("Part-Time Lover"), and Lexi Norton ("In Flames").Dabin started the 2020s with singles either featuring or co-headlined by Lowell, Essenger, and Illenium and an EP of Wild Youth songs rendered as acoustic versions. He kept to a busy release schedule with a series of additional tracks leading up to the 2021 arrival of Between Broken. More singles arrived amid a slew of Between Broken remixes, and by 2023, Dabin was already moving toward his next album with "Hollow," a cathartic single recorded with Kai Wachi and Lø Spirit. The track marked the producer's return to the Kannibalen roster and heralded the 2025 release of Aura Park. Dabin devoted almost three years to the making of the album and cast the likes of Said the Sky, Skylar Grey, and Trella in crucial supporting roles.
