Multi-platinum performer Andy Grammer is a gifted artist and songwriter with a bent toward contemporary soul and pop. Building upon his early Adult Top 40 hits "Keep Your Head Up" and "Fine by Me," he broke through with 2015's Magazines or Novels, which hit number 19 on the Billboard 200 and paved the way for 2017's The Good Parts. Grammer has since broadened his profile, competing on Dancing with the Stars and contributing to film soundtracks like 2019's Five Feet Apart. In 2021, he hit the Top 30 of the Billboard 200 with Naive and followed it a year later with the Art of Joy EP. His fifth album, Monster, arrived in 2024.A native of Los Angeles, Grammer is the son of children's music artist Red Grammer and grew up in New York State. He later returned to California to earn his B.A. in music industry studies from California State University, Northridge. While attending school, he began performing around Los Angeles and even spent time as a street performer to help publicize himself. Higher-profile gigs followed, and he eventually signed with S-Curve Records.Grammer released his debut album, Andy Grammer, in 2011. That summer, he supported both Natasha Bedingfield and Colbie Caillat on tour. Two years later, he released the EP Crazy Beautiful. In 2015, Grammer returned with his sophomore album, Magazines or Novels, featuring the singles "Back Home" and "Honey, I'm Good," the latter of which reached number nine on the Billboard chart. (It also helped him become the first male pop artist since John Mayer to reach the Top Ten at adult pop radio on his first two singles.) After a 2015 stint as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, Grammer released another single, "Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah)," which became his second consecutive hit to be certified gold. Released in the summer of 2016, the single "Fresh Eyes" also performed well, reaching over 250 million streams and platinum status. In June 2017, Grammer delivered the single "Give Love" featuring LunchMoney Lewis. The song later appeared on his third studio LP, The Good Parts, which was released in December of that year. In February 2019, Grammer contributed the song, "Don't Give Up on Me" to the soundtrack of the film Five Feet Apart. The song also served as the lead single off his fourth studio album, Naive, which arrived that July and featured guest appearances from Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Andy Mineo, and others. The record cracked the Top 30 of the Billboard 200. More releases followed in 2020, including a duet version of his song "Best of You" with Elle King and a reworking of the album track "I Found You" with Cash Cash. In 2021, he collaborated with R3hab on the song "Close to You," and issued the inward-looking self-love anthem "Love Myself." Along with the charting "Damn It Feels Good to Be Me," both songs appeared on Grammer's 2022 EP The Art of Joy. "The Wrong Party" with Fitz and the Tantrums and the solo cut "Good to Me" rounded out the year. Grammer started 2023 with the singles "These Tears" and "Love Is the New Money," with the Pentatonix-assisted "Expensive" appearing later that September. In October 2024, he delivered his fifth full-length album, Monster. Anchored by the Adam Friedman-produced title track, it also featured Maddie & Tae on the song "I Do" and his wife, singer Aijia Lise Grammer (aka Aijia), on the track "Unforgivable."
