Nevermind

The chamber ensemble Nevermind has four members and focuses on Baroque music for a quartet of instruments. The group also performs contemporary works. Nevermind has made several recordings, including almost unknown composers as well as Bach and Telemann. In 2025, the group released its own arrangement of Bach's Goldberg Variations, BWV 988, for quartet.Nevermind was formed in France in 2013 by a group of four musical friends who enjoyed jazz and traditional music as well as Baroque styles. The membership has remained unchanged as of the mid-2020s and includes flutist Anna Besson, violinist Louis Creac'h, viola da gamba player Robin Pharo, and harpsichordist Jean Rondeau. Signed to the Alpha label, Nevermind released its first album, Conversations, featuring the works of a pair of little-known Italian-influenced French composers, Jean-Baptiste Quentin and Louis-Gabriel Guillemain (a court musician at Versailles). Nevermind has continued to record for Alpha into the mid-2020s.Nevermind has had a wide-ranging performing career, especially by the standards of French Baroque music. They have performed across Europe as well as at several prestigious U.S. venues, including the Boston Early Music Festival. Nevermind has also appeared in Canada, Iceland, and Russia. Its performance venues include major French venues such as the Auditorium at the Louvre Museum and at such foreign halls as the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam, the Barbican in London, and Hong Kong City Hall. The group has been visible at festivals such as the Rheingau Musik Festival and Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in Germany, and the Musiq3 event in Belgium. The group also plays contemporary works, including La Harpe de David, composed for Nevermind by Philippe Hersant. Nevermind's Alpha releases include albums devoted to Telemann (2017) and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (2021). In 2025, the group issued the album Bach: Goldberg Variations, containing its own arrangements of Bach's legendary keyboard work.
