Cash Cash

American trio Cash Cash are known for their melodic, high-energy electronic dance music. Emerging in the 2000s, they built a loyal fan base with albums like 2008's Take It to the Floor and 2012's The Beat Goes On. They gained widespread attention for their single "Take Me Home" off their 2016 number three Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums-charting breakthrough Blood, Sweat & 3 Years. They remained global club favorites with tracks like 2017's "Matches" with Rozes and 2018's "Finest Hour" with Abir, both of which landed on their 2021 effort Say It Like You Feel It. A continuous flow of singles kept them busy through 2025, including their award-winning remix of Taylor Dayne's "Tell It To My Heart."Hailing from Roseland, New Jersey, Cash Cash began with longtime friends Jean Paul Makhlouf (producer, vocals) and Samuel Frisch (producer, DJ). In 2007, a more solid lineup came together when Jean Paul's brother Alex came on board (producer, keyboards). The musicians spent a summer working inside Jean Paul's home studio and emerged with a stack of demos, including a rough cut of the infectious dance number "Party in Your Bedroom." They came up with the name Cash Cash in early 2008 and signed with Universal. An Internet and club hit, "Party in Your Bedroom" also found its way onto their debut release for the label, a self-titled EP that appeared in October. Following the success of that release, they also served as remixers for acts like Krewella, Capital Cities, Kelly Clarkson, and Bruno Mars. Their debut full-length, Take It to the Floor, followed in early 2009 and was supported by a package tour that also included Metro Station and Tyga. Second album Love or Lust appeared in 2011, self-released by Cash Cash and featuring a pair of singles, "Victim of Love" and "Sexin' on the Dance Floor" (the latter featuring Jeffree Starr). They issued the Daft Punk-meets-dubstep single "Michael Jackson (The Beat Goes On)" in 2012, later included on the EP The Beat Goes On. The band signed to Atlantic's Big Beat subsidiary one year later. Their first single for the label, "Take Me Home," featuring Bebe Rexha, followed in July 2013. The hit was part of the Overtime EP, which also featured Kerli on the track "Here and Now." The following year, Cash Cash nabbed head Goo Goo Doll Johnny Rzeznik for the single "Lightning." "Surrender" arrived a year later with American singer Julia Michaels on vocals. These songs would later be featured on the band's fourth LP -- and first for Big Beat -- Blood, Sweat & 3 Years. The 2016 release landed at number three on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart and featured additional contributions from Busta Rhymes, Fitz & the Tantrums, Nelly, Christina Perri, and more. The following year, Cash Cash remixed tracks by Clean Bandit, Liam Payne, and Kelly Clarkson, while also issuing the singles "Matches" with singer Rozes and "Belong" with Dashboard Confessional. More singles followed, including 2018's "Call You" featuring MAGIC! singer Nasri and "Finest Hour" with Abir. All of those songs wound up on their fifth full-length, 2021's Say It Like You Feel It. Building upon their previous release, the guest list for the effort collected additional big acts such as Wiz Khalifa and Lukas Graham ("Too Late"), Phoebe Ryan ("Ride or Die"), Conor Maynard ("All My Love"), and many more.Singles continued to roll out over the coming years, including "Anyway" with RuthAnne, their first with Ultra Records. A remix of Taylor Dayne's "Tell It To My Heart" became a chart hit in 2023 and nabbed them an Electronic Dance Music Award for Remake of the Year in 2024. Collaborations with Bryce Vine, DVBBS, lovelytheband, ROZES, and Hayley Kiyoko carried them through 2025.
