Leith Ross

Canada's Leith Ross is a singer/songwriter of soft-spoken, self-conscious songs that often look at love from the position of the outsider. Ross issued their eight-song debut, Motherwell, in 2020. Two years later, they went viral with "We'll Never Have Sex," an earnest acoustic song about platonic love that struck a chord on social media, garnering millions of listens. Record deals with Interscope and Republic Records soon followed, and the song appeared on Ross' official debut LP, 2023's Juno-nominated To Learn. They leaned into earthy folk for the single "Grieving," a preview of their 2025 sophomore album.Born and raised outside of Ottawa, Ontario, Ross showed artistic leanings from a young age and started writing songs around the age of 12. About a decade later, Motherwell, an introspective set of (mostly) acoustic songs, arrived on the Birthday Cake label in 2020. A full year later, Ross released the two-track single "I'd Have to Think About It"/"Monogamy." Issued in early 2022, the affectionate "We'll Never Have Sex" went viral on social media, collecting millions of clicks by midyear. Ross was featured on "Don't Feel Like Crying" by touring mates the Bros. Landreth that May. The singer/songwriter signed with Interscope and Republic Records before the end of the year and made their major-label debut with May 2023's To Learn, which included "We'll Never Have Sex." Considered Ross' official debut album, it enjoyed some activity on side charts including album sales in the U.S. and U.K. before receiving a Juno Award nomination for Alternative Album of the Year. Arriving in mid-2025, the rustic, folk-minded single "Grieving" was the first sign of their Rostam-produced third album, out later in the year.
