Westside Connection
Composed of Los Angeles gangsta rap heavyweights Ice Cube, WC, and Mack 10, Westside Connection emerged in 1996 at the height of the East Coast/West Coast war of words. Their definitive debut, BOW DOWN, saw Cube and company calling out the entire East Coast on tracks like “All the Critics in New York” and a long list of artists by name including Common, Q-Tip, and even fellow Cali-native Cypress Hill. The album’s title track became a West Coast anthem and BOW DOWN went platinum. After a lengthy hiatus, the trio re-teamed in 2003 for their sophomore LP, TERRORIST THREATS.
