Tanner Usrey
Tanner Usrey sings with a big soulful voice, blending heartfelt Americana songs with Southern rock riffs and a strong dose of Texas grit. He cut his teeth touring the regional Texas circuit as an independent artist before his 2019 single "Come Back Down" went viral and elevated him to national status. Usrey kept building on his success and in 2023 signed a major label deal with Atlantic Records which released his debut album, Crossing Lines. His 2025 follow-up, These Days, was a more rugged and personal affair and featured production from Dave Cobb.Tanner Usrey grew up in the Texas town of Prosper, just north of Dallas. Along with 90s country icon Alan Jackson, his early musical heroes ranged from classic rock acts like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Faces to fellow Texans like Wade Bowen and Whiskey Myers. When he began writing his own songs, Usrey pulled from a similar mix of styles that fused classic country with rock, Americana, and red dirt. He was playing regular shows around Texas when in 2019 his self-released EP, Medicine Man, blew up thanks to its breakout single "Come Back Down." Usrey quit his day job and over the next few years put everything he had into his music career, releasing another EP, SŌL Sessions, in 2021. One of its tracks, "The Light," received high-profile placement on the popular television show Yellowstone. Usrey had enough momentum to make the jump to a label and signed with Atlantic in early 2023. Working with producer Beau Bedford, he recorded his debut album Crossing Lines. The album dialed in on his core mix of styles and made it into the Top Ten of Billboard's Heatseekers chart as well as the Americana/Folk and Independent charts. For his follow-up, Usrey teamed up with respected Nashville producer Dave Cobb, amping up the energy with a more rock-driven sound. Released in 2025, These Days was also a more personally revealing set with a resilient, self-reflective tone.
