Alison Wonderland
With a sound as big as her name is punny, Alison Wonderland is an Australian EDM producer, DJ, and singer who began her music career on the opposite side of the spectrum as a classically trained cellist. A highly successful DJ known for her energetic sets focusing on a variety of trap and future bass styles, her own music is often far more introspective, with lyrics based on her mental health struggles. She has topped the American and Australian dance charts, and reached the Top Ten on the overall Australian albums chart, with her three full-lengths: Run (2015), Awake (2018), and Loner (2022). Wonderland leaned into collaborations over the next few years, cutting tracks with Dimension and Subtronics, then returned with Ghost World in 2025.Born Alexandra Sholler, she spent a few years DJ'ing and producing remixes before releasing her debut single, "Get Ready," in 2013. In 2014 she signed with the EMI label and released the ironically titled Calm Down. The EP earned accolades from tastemakers like Annie Mac and Diplo, and it featured the hit single "I Want U." A year later she released her debut album, Run, which featured guest spots from Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips, Lido, and Slumberjack. The DJ celebrated the release with a series of launch parties at different strip bars dotted across Australia. Released in 2017, the single "Happy Place" revealed the first offering from Wonderland's follow-up album, Awake. An additional pair of 2018 singles, "Church" and "No," preceded the album's April release. The set was her second to top the U.S. dance chart and land in the Top Ten in her native Australia. In the beginning of 2019, she joined fellow electronic producer Dillon Francis for an American tour, and the pair released the joint single "Lost My Mind." 2020 saw the release of the single "Bad Things," followed by "Fuck U Love U" in 2021. Both tracks appeared on her third studio full-length, 2022's Loner, which reached the Top Ten in Australia and number three on the U.S. Dance chart. Loner received a remix treatment a year later with contributions from Pauline Herr, Friend Within, Hex Cougar, and others. Over the next two years, Wonderland focused on collaborative singles, working with artists like Dimension ("Satellite") and Subtronics ("No One Does It Like") before returning in 2025 with the solo single "Get Started." Ghost World arrived in December, with guests including Ninajirachi, Erick the Architect, and Quix.
