Bambounou

French producer Bambounou makes detailed, polyrhythmic dance tracks influenced by U.K. techno, IDM, and tribal house as well as astrophysics and dystopian sci-fi. First appearing on French electro label YounGunZ Entertainment in 2010, he released a collaboration with Joakim before attracting the attention of German pranksters Modeselektor, who signed Bambounou to their 50Weapons imprint. He continued pushing his complex, club-forward sound further with two full-lengths for the label, Orbiting (2012) and Centrum (2015). He then issued material on AD 93 before launching his own label, Bambe, with 2021's Cascade EP. The stripped-down, hypnotic Levantarse EP appeared in 2025.A Paris-based producer of French, Malian, and Polish descent, Jeremy Guindo first surfaced as Bambounou in 2010, issuing the EP Animism on YounGunZ Entertainment. A second EP for the label, Alpha, followed in 2011, and Guindo collaborated with Joakim on the EP Fructose (Sound Pellegrino), including the track "FFWD," in which the producers playfully slow down and speed up the tempo. Bambounou then found a home on Modeselektor's 50Weapons imprint in 2012, issuing the COBE EP in front of debut full-length Orbiting. 2013's Full of Feelings EP and a handful of singles appeared in between Orbiting and Bambounou's second album, 2015's Centrum. Following the closure of 50Weapons, Bambounou issued a split EP with Marco Shuttle on the Lavibe label in 2018. His solo EP Parametr Perkusja, issued by Disk, incorporated African tribal percussion. Another rhythmically complex club EP, 021, was released by Whities in 2019, with 033 following in 2020, after the label changed its name to AD 93. Guindo founded his own label, Bambe, in 2021, and released the EP Cascade as well as a collaboration with Bruce titled Final Conference. In 2022, Firecamp released Bambounou's experimental EP La Sagrada, which was digitally issued alongside a wax candle sculpture of the artist. He also radically reworked Moby's "Porcelain" for Reprise Remixes. Following a few loose tracks such as "The Life of a Touring DJ," Bambounou collaborated with Priori on the 2024 EP C.R.U.S.H. The solo effort Levantarse appeared in 2025.
