INK
Atia "Ink" Boggs writes songs for artists spanning R&B, rap, pop, EDM, and country, and those she keeps for herself are similarly eclectic, evincing wisdom beyond her years with lyrics that are both candid and poetic. The Atlanta-area native got her foot in the door in the mid-2010s, and truly came to notice by co-writing of six songs for Beyoncé's Renaissance and Cowboy Carter, including the chart-topping, Grammy-nominated "Texas Hold 'Em." Ink established her own discography with varied projects such as Highlight Real (2018), Backstreets (2019), and Imagine Not Knowing (2021). After her work with Beyoncé and another number one hit with Kendrick Lamar and SZA's "Luther," Ink signed a joint deal with Electric Feel and Big Loud and delivered her debut 2025 album, BIG BUSKIN', featuring the country-leaning singles "Turquoise Cowboy" and "Hoedown."Ink had an itinerant upbringing as a member of an Army family. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, she graduated from high school in Columbus, Georgia, and while attending Clark Atlanta University, the self-taught guitarist busked along the routes of the MARTA bus system, from downtown Atlanta to the Buckhead area. Fueled foremost by The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, Ink pursued songwriting, and a few years after she connected with top-tier writer James Fauntleroy, she earned her first credits in 2015 with Tamar Braxton's "Catfish," Rick Ross and Mary J. Blige's "Very Best," and Monica's "Suga." In addition, she made her first featured appearances that year on Trae tha Truth's charting album Tha Truth, including the J. Cole production "Children of Men." From there, Ink co-wrote tracks for the likes of Yo Gotti, Meek Mill, Icewear Vezzo, and YFN Lucci, and she was featured alongside Justin Bieber on Chris Brown's Billboard 200-topping Indigo. Meanwhile, Ink made time to put together Highlight Real and Backstreets, her first two releases as a headliner. Where the debut was predominantly slick contemporary R&B, the follow-up, featuring the cathartic "My Theme Song," was more rooted in her background as a guitar-wielding street performer. During the first couple years of the 2020s, Ink was sought out by Childish Gambino, NLE Choppa, Leon Bridges, Andy Mineo, and Bobby Fishscale, among others. She co-wrote four songs on Bridges' Top 20 album Gold-Diggers Sound, duetting with the singer on "Don't Worry." Additionally, she released Imagine Not Knowing, her third project.Back in 2019, at Roc Nation's annual pre-Grammy brunch, Ink approached Beyoncé and introduced herself with "Hey, I just wanted to let you know, I'm going to be writing your next album." The meeting led to Ink contributing to three songs to 2022's Renaissance, namely "Alien Superstar," "Thique," and "Summer Renaissance." That album landed just before Lil Nas X issued "Star Walkin'," a Top 40 hit co-written by Ink. For Beyoncé's next album, Cowboy Carter, Ink co-wrote the dual lead single "Texas Hold 'Em" and "16 Carriages," plus "American Requiem." The immensely successful "Texas Hold 'Em" topped the Hot 100 and country charts, and many other pop charts outside the U.S. The song was nominated for three Grammys, two of which -- Song of the Year and Best Country Song -- are songwriters' categories. Also in 2024, Ink teamed with Zerb and the Chainsmokers for "Addicted," and co-wrote songs headlined by Jennifer Lopez (most of This Is Me...Now), 21 Savage ("Dark Days"), Latto ("Ear Candy," "Look What You Did"), Lay Bankz ("Tell Ur Girlfriend"), and Kendrick Lamar. "Luther" and "Gloria," recorded for the latter's chart-topping GNX, both featured SZA, and the first of the two songs spent 13 consecutive weeks on top of the Hot 100. Near the end of "Luther"'s reign, Ink made her Big Loud/Electric Feel debut with "Turquoise Cowboy." A few weeks later, she was back with "Hoedown." Both songs heralded Ink's full-length debut album, BIG BUSKIN', which arrived in October 2025 and found her paying homage to her Atlanta roots.
