John Oszajca
Hawaii-born John Oszajca was in a few bands in Seattle before heading to L.A., where he performed at open mikes while working as a concert promoter. He eventually signed with Interscope, and his debut album, From There to Here, appeared in spring 2000. Most reviews mentioned his record's similarities to Beck, but there was also the matter of Oszajca's short-lived engagement to Lisa Marie Presley. Oszajca made some waves with singles like "Bisexual Chick" and "Back in 1999," but little was heard from him (at least nationally) until 2005, when Oszajca reappeared with a new label, Warner Bros./Record Collection, and album, First Sign of Anything.
