Twinnie
A British singer/songwriter and actress, Twinnie-Lee Moore (aka Twinnie), is known for her numerous stage and television appearances, as well as her own hooky, pop-oriented country songs. Following her early theater work on London's West End, Moore gained widespread recognition for her role as Porsche McQueen in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks. In 2019, she released her debut EP, Better When I'm Drunk, before hitting number two on the U.K. Country Albums chart with her 2020 full-length Hollywood Gypsy. Following a companion acoustic EP, I Love You Now Change, Twinnie delivered a third EP, 2022's Welcome to the Club. In 2024, she joined the long-running soap Emmerdale and returned to the Top 40 in the U.K. with her sophomore full-length, Something We Used to Say.Born in 1987 in York, Moore became interested in performing in her youth and took piano, vocal, and dance lessons growing up. She gained early experience on-stage dancing in productions at York's Grand Opera House, where she eventually worked her way up to starring roles, including a 2003 run as Dorothy in a production of The Wizard of Oz. During this period, she attended the Joseph Rowntree School, after which she spent three years studying dance and musical theater at Phil Winston's Theatreworks in Blackpool. More high-profile work followed, including a 2009 role as murderer Velma Kelly in a touring production of Chicago. She also starred in productions of A Chorus Line, Flashdance the Musical, and a 2011 West End run of Rock of Ages. In 2014, Moore nabbed a breakout role as Porsche McQueen in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks. She also appeared in the 2017 film The Wife. Along with her success on stage and screen, Moore pursued her love of pop and country music, writing songs and singing in local pubs. She began posting songs online and signed with BMG in 2017. In March 2019, she released her debut EP, Better When I'm Drunk. The title track landed at number one on the U.K. Country chart. A single, "Social Babies," followed that July. Both tracks were included on her full-length debut, Hollywood Gypsy, which arrived in April 2020 and reached number two on the U.K. Country Albums chart. Twinnie quickly returned that June with the I Love You Now Change EP, featuring acoustic renditions of songs from the LP. A third EP, Welcome to the Club, arrived in June 2022. In November 2024, she delivered her sophomore full-length album, Something We Used to Say. Along with the Barnabas Shaw-produced title track, it featured a duet with Max Boyle on the song "Take a Break." The album reached 31 in the U.K., and topped several streaming charts. Also in 2024, Moore joined the cast of the long-running British soap Emmerdale.
