Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald It's a pity that it's presented in a style reminiscent of an expensive, schmaltzy corporate video - but even viewers violently allergic to such things will have little trouble enduring it given the substance beneath. Jun 17, 2020 Full Review Brian Lowry CNN.com If "Dear..." can be written off as what Oprah's critics once labeled "broccoli TV," given the state of media, it's hard to question working something healthier into our diets. Jun 4, 2020 Full Review Polly Conway Common Sense Media Icons change lives in inspirational letter-writing docu. Rated: 4/5 Jun 26, 2020 Full Review tt stern-enzi Fox19 (Cincinnati, OH) Dear... is an inventive approach to biographies of the influential people who are shaping culture and society today using letters that fans have written to them. Jun 23, 2020 Full Review Joel Keller Decider We'll look past the awkwardness of the format because we get to hear from the influencers and the people they've influenced. Jun 10, 2020 Full Review Stephanie Archer Film Inquiry While much of Dear... revolves around stories of the past that have shaped the futures of others, episode after episode, audiences will find this is more relevant than they could have ever imagined. ahmad m Propagandist in the worst of ways Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Dear, Lin... You inspire me a lot. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I was surprised with how deep this documentary is, I thought it was going to be lame by glorifying celebrities/millionaires but it is SO GOOD. I fully recommend it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Mark S It's just amazing! Great stories, many feelings. This show portrays the power of art and media, and teaches how powerful an action can be. Throughout the show I had goosebumps, I smiled, i laughed, even cried. 100% recommend this amazing compilation of stories. Once again, thank you Apple for great content that goes beyond entretainment. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/08/20 Full Review Audience Member The first dud for Apple TV+. This is not worth your time at all. It is a pandering, idolizing, and vapid docu-series which doesn't offer any real critique on the celebrities documented. The letters interspersed are calculated to draw emotion, but it is so transparent and artificial that the only emotion it inspires is disgust.
