This gritty take on the "Teen Titans" franchise follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find where they belong. Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special girl possessed by a strange darkness, get involved in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Hot-headed Starfire and lovable Beast Boy join them along the way as together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes fighting evil.

As a DC fan at heart, I really enjoyed Titans. The action was solid, the tone was darker, and the characters had depth. I do wish they stayed a little closer to the comics, especially with some character designs and arcs, but I understood the vision and respected the creative direction they took. Starfire was my girl, no doubt. I just wish they showcased her powers and fighting skills way earlier and more often—but I get that budgets play a role in that. Still, the energy, the cast, and the vibe kept me locked in. It was a fresh, mature take on the Teen Titans, and I was genuinely excited for every episode.

Definitely can’t complain about the first season too much. The characters were nicely casted, the acting is pretty solid, and most of the time it’s just all around enjoyable. The plot is pretty coherent and isn’t totally absurd, I do enjoy the darker and more serious tone. Overall I recommend.
