Secret Paws

Every year Miss Paula from Sweet Purrfections takes cat bloggers who want to participate and pairs them up. We got our box last week and since mom will be gone for Christmas, we got to open our box early.

It came from Wally, Ernie and Zoey and their mom from The Island Cats.

They are nice - they sent a stocking for
Allie with canned food and treats.

Thanks for our presents!! Mom got something nice too - chocolate and cat magnets. The magnets are on the fridge and the chocolates are already gone. MOL

Random Fridays

More good news:
Bristol - ADOPTED

Amarillo - ADOPTED

Not together and both will be single kittens. Mom did laugh wondering how long it will take for Bristol's new family to regret that decision. hahaha
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some cat got her nails trimmed last weekend and then spent
time giving mom THIS look.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mom got our Secret Paws package wrapped up and sent last week. She said something about it going over the ocean....we hope it gets there in time (since planning ahead wasn't mom's thing this year).
~~~~~~~~~~~~
For as much time as Daiquiri spent growling at Chanel when she first came back, she now spends just as much time giving the kid a good bath.
A couple of Chanel things: the v-e-t asked on Tuesday if mom has seen any changes in Chanel. Nope. Her recovery time seems to be a little bit better, but then again she got up on the chair the other day, gave mom a good head butt...and fell off the chair.
Oh - and she has discovered that she likes sleeping UNDER the covers at night with mom. She will come out now and then but spends the majority of the time under the comforter, on top of the blankets.
~~~~~~~~~~

So far Ivy has gotten her meds every some days and her ear is looking better. Mom did laugh and say that the v-e-t may have asked the wrong question though. Dr F asked if mom can medicate Ivy. Sure. The better question is - can mom CATCH Ivy to medicate her.  MOL

Secret Paws

This year our present for Secret Paws came from Truffle, Brulee and mom Paula of Sweet Purrfections. We were pretty excited to see the box (once mom brought it inside - MOL). We know some cats out there are having to wait for actual Catmas Day, but since mom will be visiting her family, we got to open ours a little early.
the box was properly inspected by several of us

"we hit the mother lode"

Mom finally opened one of the bags of treats and tossed them out to distract us a little.
Notice she is such a bad shot she actually got one treat ON the back of Calais.

There were treats and toys and a calendar for mom. We already broke out (and finished) a bag of treats. Mom did say that she is going to put some of the toys aside for future foster kittens....we are ok with that. Daiquiri was pretty excited cause there were some of her favorite spring toys in there.

THANK YOU SO MUCH to our Secret Paws!!!

weekend report

Mom got all her Christmas shopping done. Including our Secret Paws that will go out in the mail today.

Mom got some errands run and then watched some basketball.

The French kittens are out and about all the time now except at night. And on Sunday this happened:
Calais climbed up on the chair and curled up with mom....all her own idea. She purred and purred. Now to work on the ninjas. MOL  Mom can hold them if she catches them and they occasionally come up and look at her, but they are still a little jumpy. But they LOVE the other cats and toys.

And mom broke out our new gingerbread house. We got it as a gift from Mom Paula over at Sweet Purrfections. This one isn't being used as much as the others and mom isn't sure why, but there does tend to be someone in there a good part of the time. Thanks to mom Paula and the girls for our present (mom got it at BarkWorld).

weekend wrapup

Mom did some "spring" cleaning. Yes...we know it is winter here, but we never said the woman was right in the head....She took out some old stuff to toss or recycle. And then move around a couple of shelves. One now in her bedroom and the a new one in our room. She said next step is to move some other stuff and then put up some shelves to make us a super highway. More on that later.....

The kittens are having a blast. We are trying to figure out the next step for them at this point. But in the meantime, it is a party around here.

thinking about attacking the gingerbread house

ready to defend the house

is she coming or not?

 This cat sack was part of our Secret Paws box. No one seemed willing to go inside, so mom grabbed Daiquiri and shoved her in it. And suddenly she discovered it was pretty nice in there....until Kahlua heard the crinkling and came over to investigate.

It is that time of year...we packed up a box and sent it out. And then the man in the blue shorts pants brought us a box too. Mom locked it up for a few days but finally broke it out and let us open it.

There were lots of wrapped packages - one with each of our names on it. And a card - it was from the kitties at 15 and Meowing THANKS so much....we love it!!!

Our Secret Paws present.....

We gotted another box the other day. It was from our Secret Paws kitty.  Mom opened the card and started laughing like mad. It would seem that the kitty we got also got us. MOL

So - THANK YOU Miss Cathy Keisha for our presents. There was even something for mom in there. We have already opened one of the bags of treats (nommy) and some of the toys. Tommy is stalking that feather but that is for use with mom present only. And mom said one of the bags of treats will be for Licorice since they are all grain free.  You and your peeps rock!!!!

Secret Paws......

We gotted our package and mom was going to make us wait.....But Miss Connie from tails from the foster kittens told her she had to open it.

First....there was a nice card. And a check.....Miss Connie had a commentathon and send mom the money to use for supplies for the kittens. Mom gotted a little choked up. But on to the box.....

You can see the whole story here: Secret Paws  (we hope)

There were nip mats and nip....the mats are out but mom hid the nip. There were toy mices...and a stocking full of balls (yeah - ping pong) and things to chase.

Mom even gotted some things. There was chocolate...and a beautiful necklace with starfish on it. Mom once again burst into tears.....she is wearing it and LOVES it.  We think it is nice too...

Thanks Miss Connie and the kitties.  :)

In case you haven't read it before, here is the starfish story:

The Starfish StoryOriginal Story by: Loren Eisley

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed
a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.
Approaching the boy, he asked, "What are you doing?"
The youth replied, "Throwing starfish back into the ocean.  The surf is up and the tide is going out.
If I don't throw them back, they'll die."
"Son," the man said, "don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish?  You can't make a difference!"
After listening politely, the boy bent down,
picked up another starfish,  and threw it back into the surf.
Then, smiling at the man, he said
"I made a difference for that one."

Random Fridays

As most of you know, mom drives transport lots for Ontario Bloodhound Rescue.  Well, a brother sister pair were rescued a while ago from North Carolina where they were left tied to an abandoned house. And then - they struck it big and were picked to be on BROADWAY.  You can see some of their training here.  And, Bill Berloni, the trainer, and his wife decided to adopt them.  Merry Christmas Pete and Lily!!!
~~~~~~~~~~
Mom said she is taking Monday off as a bay-cation day. Something about days to use before the end of the year. And she mentioned something about cleaning her room and trying to fix the underneath of her bed. Uh oh - Junior is going to lose his hiding space.
~~~~~~~~~~

The Gemstone kitts are doing well. Mom lets them out in the evenings and they are all over the place. Except Emma who is sure, being a princess, that she doesn't need to play with the horde and sits on mom's lap. This morning they were "attacking" Bourb through the gate while mom was getting ready for work.

And now, for some cute:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We helped mom prepare our Secret Paws package last night. Bourbon apparently thought he could mail himself with the packages.  MOL
