A Coastal Drive to Sitiawan And Lumut

WHEN I SUGGESTED GOING TO LUMUT, three ladies were All for the short trip.  Oh, the trip took more than an hour actually, it was not a really short trip.  We started off from Ipoh around 11am, dropping my girl back to her Uni on the way before proceeding on to Lumut and Sitiawan.  We reached Kampong Koh in Sitiawan around 1pm, just nice for our lunch.  It has been many years since my sister last visited Sitiawan, some development could be seen here and there around the town.

First of all, the food... We just dropped by to one of the open air restaurants called Yeh Loi Heong, if I am not mistaken...
We had meehoon...
Sitiawan's famous Fish Mall soup...
Steamed clams....
Crispy fried fish called "Sar Chui" in Cantonese....
And our wide grins during the food attack....
After our heavy lunch, we proceeded to Lumut Jetty....

Beautiful blue skies ahead...
We shopped around there and bought some packets of Ikan Bilis among other stuff...
One must not leave Lumut without a bowl of Cendol from James...
Despite the heat, we must have a bowl each...
Fresh green cendol, red beans among the creamy santan and ice....
With the sweetness in our mouths, we left for Ipoh...
The coastal journey took an hour plus...
It was almost 7pm when we reached home......

Speeding Back To Marina Island Jetty, Lumut

DAY 4 -  OUR VACATION IN PANGKOR LAUT RESORT ENDED... Checkout time is 11am, leaving our luggage at the villas, we walked to the reception area to hand in our "modem" and keys.   The speed boat would come around noon to pick up the passengers and we lingered around the vicinity to absorb the last moments in this beautiful island.  I really do not know when I would be coming again, perhaps the next time with my kids.... Two nights is definitely not enough, three nights will be best.... so start saving now.... hahahahaa...
At the jetty getting ready to aboard....
Time to bade goodbye...
When will we coming back again....
Only one regret....
The general manager Mr. Ross Sanders came to see us off....
Just too bad that I did not take a picture with him...
Guess I have to come another time to do that!  :)
Speeding back to the mainland....
Rounded faces after the four days of feasting.....
Fifteen minutes later, we arrived at the mainland...  the office...
And the parking lot just opposite the office where we parked our cars for four days...
For four days three nights, the parking came to RM90....
If we were to take a cab from Ipoh, the fare will cost RM130 one way...
So I guess it is much cheaper to drive and park here...
In conclusion, I am so thankful for this vacation in Pangkor Laut Resort...
Hope we can go again... one fine day!

Our Villa At Pangkor Laut Resort

FROM THE MARINA JETTY ISLAND, WE WERE TAKEN ON A SPEEDBOAT exactly at 1pm...  All our luggage were taken care of, we just had to walk to the speedboat with friendly staff welcoming us abroad.... and get ourselves seated comfortably.....
Before speeding off, we had to wear the orange life jackets.... hugging tightly to our body....
Not many passengers at one go.....
Alright, I know... my face kept appearing here....
Well, cannot blame this old auntie for boarding the speedboat for the First Time in history...
Hence the same face all over again and again....
Speeding across the ocean to Pangkor Laut Resort...
Soon we saw the island...
The journey was short, just around fifteen minutes or so only....
In no time, we have reached the island....
Friendly and pleasant looking staff welcoming each and everyone of us...
Yes, it does remind me of Fantasy Island shown on TV during the 1970s.....
Everything is taken care of... we do not have to carry anything but ourselves..
Even wheelchair is provided if needed...
And we needed one....
Quickly we took a few pictures before being led to the reception....
At the island jetty....
There are a few types of accommodation... Sea Villa, Beach Villa and Hill Villa...
Mine is the Beach Villa... convenient for me and the elderly...
But have to go up a few steps... that cannot be helped.....
Our villa is facing this part of the sea....
                                                         Our room at a glance....
Ta....daaaa.........
Big and Spacious...
Further inside, there are two cupboards, two mirrors, two separate toilets...
Right at the end of the room is an open air Roman like bathtub...
Just filled it up with water and put in the sea salt for relaxation....
This area is not closed up above.... no peeping toms, don't worry...
The only culprits might be the Monkeys above the trees only!
hahahahaa...
Excitement showed on our faces....
Our Big Smiles with flashy teeth says it all....

Geared Up At Marina Island Jetty, Lumut

YES, THIS YEAR I AM ON A "CUTI-CUTI MALAYSIA" mode....  No more flying around so "actively" as in the previous year.  Even a badly fractured leg did not deter me from flying thousands of miles last year and somehow I survived the trip on a wheelchair, and my son gets sympathy votes more than I did. hahahahaa....

This year my leg is still recuperating and now I am still having a slight limp, never mind that.  Never say NO to traveling when time and health allows.... and that was what I did when my sibling suggested going to Pangkor Laut Resort for a few nights.  Not only that, it is an ALL PAID for trip for a few of us and I think I am the First one to say Yes, YES!!  Limp or no limp, I am all prepared to spend the few days with my siblings over the sea......

Started off from Ipoh around 10am and
reached the Marina Island Jetty around 11.30am....

Since the ferry only arrives around 1pm, we spent our time admiring the scenery before us....
One must not forget to stand and pose.... especially we ladies!

I say it again... Malaysia is actually a beautiful country to live in.....

Places where I have not been before caught me really offguarded....
At the front of the office....
Some comfort samples we would be seeing at the island.....
No place escapes our eyes... so all must be snapped and kept...
Must do some sort of "joyful dance" before embarking the speedboat...
And Now....All geared up and ready to GO!

Ciao Bella, Till We Meet Again...

For my two friends, especially Yvonne, my childhood friend...

These few days while they were here, Yvonne and I had a good time reminiscing back the good old days we had. From the day we were born, you and I grew up in the same house. Though we had different surnames, our bonding is just as close as sisters. We did almost everything together, from walking to school and accompanying each other in our outings. How not to be close when we were from the same house.....

Today both of you have flew off to China and in a matter of days, you and David will be back in Canada. Hope you have enjoyed your short stay here in Ipoh... I know David can't wait to go back though... LOL...

Here is a summary of where we went while the Cowleys were here..

Cameron Highlands

Lumut
Penang

David, we will meet again in Canada...

Yvonne, I will miss you.. but I know will see you again
Once again, thanks for flying all the way to IPOH..
Have an enjoyable trip to China and
safe journey back to Canada...
Ciao Bella!
