A 1920s era thief gets more than he bargained for when he steals an ancient Norse artifact. (Okay fine it's basically The Mummy, but gayer and with Norse mythology there are you happy?) Content Warning: some unsettling situations and imagery, mild sexuality, and peril. PTSD is discussed. Chapter 14 and 16 have brief torture which may be upsetting to some readers. After surviving a car crash, Jamie has a dream that does not make sense, but learning what it means could help her understand what direction her life is headed. She struggles through depression and temptation while wishing someone would take the time to listen to what she has to say. Since no one seems willing to do so, she bottles her feelings inside. What wrong decisions will one make simply because no one else will take the time to listen? What amount of power does an unsaid burden have over a person?

It's no secret that some people use their unique gifts to do good, and some use them to do evil. Your classic heroes and villains, if you will. But what about the middle people? The people born with powers, not the kinds that let you fly, or crush cars with your mind, or turn your enemies into puddles of goo before you, the ones that are not quite considered "super". Andrew, Carter, and Heather knew that their unique abilities would be worthless if they made themselves full time heroes or villains. Instead, they use their "uselessness" to their advantage. The trio makes their living in their own respected fields, but they come together as the best band of thieves in the world. Nobody would ever suspect three seemingly innocent young adults of 45 high profile theft cases. There is nothing extraordinary about them after all, no crazy hair colors, no fire blasting out of their mouths. It's the perfect cover. When the group steals a valuable, but at the same time worthless, artifact from a museum in Tokyo, they find themselves caught in the crossfire between the National Superhero League and a new super villain on the rise. And since the heroes can't seem to be doing their one job right, the group steps out of the shadows and takes matters into their own hands.

A short story I had to write for a school assignment. Ending is very sudden, as I wasn't allowed to make it over four pages. Really, if I had the choice I would've made it several chapters long, and turned it into a gay story lmao.

Kenna Wharton was in no way a good kid. She was a common criminal, a pickpocket that was damn good at her job, too. And the fact that she had useful powers only sweetened the deal. "Calm down lamb, I just want to look at you," Luka drawled as he held me in place against the wall. His other hand held firm on my waist, fitted against me as if it had always belong there. As if I had always belonged to him. At the sight and silent message of domination I began to bite down hard on his fingers. That'll show the cocky ass. Luka only tsked at me as he moved his hand up and slowly pried my jaw open, inching so close I breathed in his natural leather and mint scent, a tinge of smoke lingering within it. Despite him interrupting my meal I smiled at the taste of coppery blood that coated my teeth and lips. So I had drawn blood. My nemesis's eyes zeroed in on me, going completely still as I licked my lips of any remaining red splotches. "You're a fucking heathen," Luka laughed, his confident voice contrasting with his entranced gaze before ruining me with the end of his sentence. "If you think you have any chance of escaping me after this lamb, you're dead wrong," Everything went deathly still as I took in his last promise, "I'm not done with you yet." A lion toying with it's prey before savagely devouring it.
