This is part of my effort to convert my HubPages blog into books on Wattpad that I may also sell in ebook form.
This book is mostly complete, but will be updated as anime trends change, new anime come out, or as I come across new topics I feel like adding.
You've probably heard of various anime-specific character types when talking about anime, such as kuudere, dandere, himedere, tsundere, yandere etc.
Learn not only what these are, and more, but what makes them so fascinating and appealing. Why are these character types used so often in anime?
Also a discussion of the anime character tropes I hate and why, anime tropes that just need to stop existing. But also the ones I like! For example, I'm kind of a sucker for the yandere type.
An analysis of the red oni - blue oni dichotomy in anime characters, and how this dynamic is used to define characters through contrast. P
Physical characteristics that define anime characters will also be discussed, since anime is a distinct visual storytelling medium.
Finally, we will discuss cuteness and beauty in anime characters, most importantly, how neoteny (a display of youthful or child-like qualities) is used in characters with 'moe' appeal, like lolis and cat girls.
The emphasis is on how characters are created in anime, why anime and manga creators tend to make certain characterization choices, and what role typical anime characterization tropes play in anime storytelling.
This is an ongoing project, because anime changes over time. Most of the content is from my HubPages account. I'm closing that and moving my content onto Wattpad because I want to be able to group related articles together to make books, which to me seems much more logical and more organized.
