I'm quite sure most of you have heard the famous tale about a young farm lad called Jack, who went from rags to riches, thanks to the miracle of... beans. Although Jack wasn't exactly perfect, we can learn a thing or two from his story. Take advantage of opportunities, and make the best of a bad situation. Here is my retelling of this famous story, for it is my duty to pass these folk tales on to future generations, via Wattpad that is. So in case you didn't know, I am in love w/ The Land of Stories, a series by Chris Colfer. Recently we had an exercise in class to rewrite Jack and the Beanstalk from an unexpected pov, and I couldn't resist using Colfer's version of Queen Red Riding Hood, given her history w/ Jack in the series. Also, there were conditions we had to pick from and use in the story, but I don't think it's necessary for you guys to know them lol. Also, disclaimer that I also put on the assignment in class: -side note- the characters and relationships of characters are NOT mine, except the witch. I just wrote the story based on relationships used in The Land of Stories series, between Red, Goldilocks, and Jack, plus the twins, Gloria the harp, and Charlie (known as Froggy for most of the series, because he had been transformed into a frog by an evil witch). But the writing in this exercise itself is mine :) So there ya go, my first fanfic in a while! Sometimes fairytales don't end the way we want it. For instance, Red Riding Hood was kidnapped by werwolves. And Jack climbed the beanstalk and stole the golden egg because he's a criminal on the run. And finally, after me and my brother Hansel killed that witch, we decided not to go back home to our children disowning parents, and decided to be witch hunters. And our target now: The Good Witch. A twist on fairytales, Red Riding Hood and her pack of wolves, Jack the thief, Hansel and Gretel are all on their merry ways to Oz for all their reasons, and read their all separate tales for the real stories of these fairytales.
