In a superhuman society obsessed with flashy powers, destructive brawls, and media attention, Ayato Saishiki operates on a completely different frequency. He views heroism not as a reckless spectacle, but as a grand chessboard where absolute control and efficiency are the only paths to victory. Blessed-and cursed-with the "Soul Spectrum," Ayato commands seven distinct souls of light, each tied to a fundamental virtue and a unique physical law. However, this immense versatility comes with a devastating biological cost: if he loses his emotional discipline and switches states too quickly, the resulting "neural friction" could permanently fry his own brain.
To survive his own power, Ayato has become a master of the "Neutral Point." Navigating the chaotic world with his eyes permanently closed to limit sensory overload, he relies on cold logic, tactical foresight, and the invisible hum of his orbiting souls to map his surroundings. Alongside his shadowy and equally disciplined friend, Fumikage Tokoyami, Ayato spends his days calculating probabilities and suppressing his outputs, preparing to conquer the grueling U.A. High School Entrance Exam without leaving a trail of collateral damage behind him.
But no amount of calculation can fully prepare him for the sheer irrationality of U.A.'s hero course. Thrown into a class filled with explosive egos, reckless Quirk-breakers, and teachers who thrive on psychological warfare, Ayato's carefully structured board is about to be flipped upside down. To protect those he loves and become the tactical hero he aspires to be, the closed eyes boy of Class 1-A will have to learn when to hold his pieces back, and when to let his spectrum burn with full intensity. The real game is just beginning.
