A Gingerbread Christmas Tablescape

December 02, 2025 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

I love gingerbread decorations and every few years I create a new Gingerbread tablescape. This tablescape repeats a few elements from the Gingerbread tablescape that I did two years ago but I added some new pieces to this one. You can see my other Gingerbread tablescapes as well as 260+ other tablescapes that I have created on my blog here: https://www.whispersoftheheart.com/tablescapes I bought this white faux fur runner on Amazon. I have had the beige tweed tablecloth for years, I can’t remember where it came from.

These stoneware matte brown gingerbread salad plates came from Pottery Barn. I have added several pieces from their brown gingerbread collection to my dish collection. I love the different white icing designs on these plates. They look really nice together on the plate stack.

They are sturdy heavy plates. The dinner plates and chargers have different white icing designs on them.

I didn’t buy the chargers at first but when they went on sale I decided that they needed to come home too. I seldom buy full sets of plates like this with a charger, dinner plate, and salad plate but Hubby is giving me some for Christmas.

This frosted deep red flatware set was made by D & D Inox in Italy and the pattern is called Roma. I bought them at Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales during a major sale many years ago. I really like the marbleized design on the handles. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying flatware sets here.

These brown gingerbread napkin rings came from Pottery Barn and they match the plates. I bought the red polyester napkins on Amazon.

To read about the What, Where, and How of napkin rings please click here.

These brown gingerbread place card holders also came from Pottery Barn. To read about the what, where and how of place card holders, please click here.

These Swirline red ribbon glass goblets came from Pier 1 many many years ago. They were some of the first goblets that I bought when I started tablescaping. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying goblets for your tablescaping collection including the colors that I use most often here.

When I did a brown gingerbread tablescape two years ago I used a gingerbread house as the centerpiece, (I will add a photo of that tablescape at the end of this post), but when I saw this reindeer and sleigh set at Pottery Barn that matched my plates, I had to have it. I also bought the matching small gingerbread figures and animals that matched it all too. I put some hard candies in the sleigh with Santa for filler.

I added the tall and short gingerbread candlesticks too because I couldn’t resist them!

I saw this cream and sugar set on a tray at HomeGoods and I knew it would work on this tablescape too. It is marked Heather Goldminc, Blue Sky Designs, 2020.

I think this gingerbread butter dish came from HomeGoods too.

This is the brown gingerbread tablescape that I created two years ago. I love coming up with new ways of designing and displaying the same themes in different ways.

A Poinsettia and Holly Christmas Tablescape

November 25, 2025 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

This is actually my favorite Christmas plate stack. I used these plates on a Christmas tablescape that I posted six years ago and I decided that it was time to post a Christmas tablescape with them again because they are some of my favorite Christmas plates. You can see the tablescape that I posted before and 270+ other tablescapes that I have created including 28 other Christmas tablescapes here: https://www.whispersoftheheart.com/tablescapes . I bought this Holly themed tablecloth at HomeGoods a few years ago.

These Bordallo Pinheiro red Christmas Tree salad plates are some of my favorite Christmas plates. I just love the detailed relief design on these salad plates. They came from Ebay, I bought a few at a time over the years as I saw them to complete my sets.

I love using bright red and bright green colors at Christmas time, they always mean Christmas to me as they did to my mother and this tablescape is a good example of that.

It took me a long time to gather this full set of plates in three different sizes, charger, dinner, and salad. I bought them one or a few at a time as I saw them on Ebay over a few years.

This flatware was made by D & D Inox in Italy and the pattern is called Roma. I bought them at Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales during a major sale several years ago. I really like the marbleized design on the handles. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying flatware here.

I can’t remember where I bought these Kelly Green cotton napkins but I love the bright green color. I love napkin rings but I decided to just fold the napkin on this tablescape.

I found these vintage holly and white place card holders with red candles on Etsy a few years ago. They were in the original box with a price tag from Maas Brothers. Maas Brothers was a store started by two brothers in Tampa, Florida in 1886. The brand ended in 1991 when the company was taken over by another company. I suspect these place card holders were sold between the 1960’s and the 1980’s. There is a space to write the guest’s name and it can be erased so that the place card holder can be used again. The original candles were included, I can’t believe that they weren’t broken at some point. I love finding vintage napkin rings and place card holders because they are different from those that are sold today. To read about the what, where and how of place card holders, please click here.

These hand cut and hand painted red and green glass goblets came from Williams Sonoma online and the pattern is called Wilshire Jewel Cut. I bought them in two sets of four red goblets one year and then two sets of four green goblets the next year. Each of the four colored goblets has a different cut design and I matched the designs together on this table setting. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying goblets for your tablescaping collection including the colors that I use most often here.

Although you can’t see it in this photo, I found the ruby red glass serving bowl that these poinsettias are setting in on Ebay a few years ago but it wasn’t identified. I used Google Images and I was actually able to identify it as made by New Martinsville/Viking between 1926 and 1970. The pattern was called Janice. I bought the faux poinsettias on Amazon.

I bought these Mosser red glass candlesticks years ago at The Vermont Country Store online. They are a favorite decoration during the holiday season and I thought that they would be perfect on this Christmas tablescape.

I love the color combination of green and red together at Christmas time and if you read my blog you see that color combination often on some of my Christmas Tablescapes.

A Go for the Gold Turkey Tablescape for Thanksgiving

November 18, 2025 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

I did this tablescape a some years ago and decided to post it again for new readers. I have had these small turkey tureens for a long time. I found them on Ebay and I finally bought the matching salad plates and dinner plates on Ebay too. I still need a few more of the tureens but one shows up only once or twice a year on Ebay so buying a full set will take some time. Unfortunately the gold color doesn’t photograph well. The dishes, tablecloth, and napkins are a warm gold color and the color gets washed out in some of these photos. This photo is actually the best representation of the color and it still isn’t completely accurate. I found the tablecloth and napkins on Amazon a few years ago and I was delighted when they came and they matched the dishes perfectly.

The turkey tureens, salad plates, and dinner plates were all made by Bordallo Pinheiro in Portugal. I have several different patterns made by this company and I love the raised designs and the details on these plates with turkeys and acorns.

The turkeys and acorns around the borders of these plates are perfect for the season.

These bronze hammered charger plates came from Williams Sonoma a few years ago. I really like the hammered design and they are a nice weight.

I bought this inexpensive set of gold flatware when I first started tablescaping. I can’t remember where it came from but I need to replace it with something of better quality eventually. (I have since bought a much nicer set.)

I’ve had these gold napkin rings for a long time. I can’t remember where they came from but it was probably Pier 1. The gold napkins came from Amazon several years ago.

I used these amber goblets on another Thanksgiving tablescape, you can see them here. I bought them at Pier 1 several years ago on sale. I love how tall they are, they will replace some that I bought several years ago that are much shorter. The brown goblet on the right was made by Lenox between 1966 and 1985. It was called Antique Brown. I bought them on Ebay several years ago.

I bought the metal leaf place card holder online several years ago, can’t remember where.

The matching candle holders came from Ebay also.

I can’t remember where I found this turkey centerpiece. I love the different textures and colors.

This is one of my favorite Thanksgiving tablescapes.

A Thanksgiving Tablescape

November 10, 2025 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

I was going to move on to a Christmas tablescape this week but I found these turkey salad plates on our recent trip and I decided to use them this year instead of waiting until next year. This Thanksgiving tablescape is similar to a few of my other Thanksgiving tablescapes but I made a few changes to this one starting with the salad plates. You can see my 14 other Thanksgiving tablescapes and over 200 other tablescapes that I have created here: https://www.whispersoftheheart.com/tablescapes I have had this green tablecloth for many years, I bought it on Amazon. I was looking for a green color and there were so many different tones and shades of green but I really liked this tweedy looking green one.

I found these turkey salad plates at a HomeGoods on the second day of our 4 1/2 week trip. The back says Potter’s Studio. Hubby was not crazy about hauling them with us to the East Coast and back but I told him that when you see something you like at HomeGoods, you need to buy it because it won’t be there the next time you go! I have learned that the hard way! I really like the bright design on this plate and the scalloped design on the edge of the plate.

This is a Fiesta dinner plate and the color is called Linen. It’s a good plate for a tablescaping collection because it is a basic color that can be used in many different ways on a plate stack. I bought them on sale at Macy’s earlier this year.

I was looking for a charger in a warm brown color and I found this plastic Bokon charger on Amazon last month. It is exactly the warm brown color that I wanted.

This marblelized light brown and cream flatware set is marked EM3 Inox 18/10, Made in Italy. I can’t remember where I bought the set online, I have had it for several years. I use this set often in the fall. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying flatware here.

I wanted to use a napkin with a design on it on this tablescape to add more interest to the table. These napkins were designed by April Cornell. I can’t remember where I bought them, they have been in my tablescaping collection for many years. The turkey napkin ring is one of my favorite napkin rings. It was one of the first napkin ring sets that I bought when I started tablescaping several years ago. The bottom says, “j. willfred, a division of the Charles Sadek Import Company, Inc.”. To read about the What, Where and How of napkin rings please click here.

I found these Department 56 ceramic turkey place card holders on Mercari a few years ago. I have a few other sets of turkey place card holders but these were colorful and it’s difficult to find colorful turkey napkin rings so I bought them. To read about the what, where and how of place card holders, please click here.

I usually use two different goblets on my tablescapes but I wanted to use this goblet and I couldn’t find another goblet in my tablescaping collection that looked good with it on this table setting so I decided to just use a pair of the same goblets. This amber glass goblet came from Pier 1 on sale right before our store closed. I love how tall they are. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying goblets for your tablescaping collection including the goblet colors that I use the most often here.

I already had a few turkey tureens but when I saw this Spode Woodland Turkey Tureen at Macy’s last year, he had some different coloring than the other ones that I have, so I decided to buy him too. I love his eyes and I love that the end of the ladle that shows is painted to match the colors on the turkey.

In this photo it looks like the ladle is chipped but it is only the reflection from the window nearby.

If you read my blog you know that I love small salt and pepper sets and I often add them to my tablescapes. This vintage salt and pepper set is labeled Relco, Japan. I found the set at an antique mall several years ago.

I have a difficult time walking past cute salt and pepper sets at HomeGoods and this set of turkeys came home with me last year. They sat on a cute small decorative tray but I didn’t use it on this table setting.
