Can be used to indicate primary source of statement?
[edit]@Deryck Chan, Tom.Reding, ChristianKl, Brya, Succu, Jheald:
This property can indicate that the reference is the primary source of a statement or it's better to use type of reference (P3865)?--Malore (talk) 15:14, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Succu, Jheald: Am I right to think that this type of reference (P3865) is like distribution format (P437) but to be used to qualify a reference, whereas this new property tells us what the reference does to the statement or item? If that understanding is correct, "primary source" would be this new property. Deryck Chan (talk) 15:22, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- I don't consider type of reference (P3865) to be suitable to state that something is a primary source. This property however is. ChristianKl ❪✉❫ 18:06, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- primary source (Q112754) has a well defined context, so it is a perfect usage of this property. --Succu (talk) 21:12, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
