基督教傳到中國，已經有一百四十多年的歷史，在這一百多年當中，它對中國的社會，曾經有過相當的貢獻。但是，不幸的很，基督教傳到中國不久以後，帝國主義便在中國開始活動，又因為把基督教傳到中國來的人們，主要的都是從這些帝國主義國家來的，基督教同帝國主義，便在有意無意、有形無形之中發生了關係。現在中國的革命勝利了。帝國主義對中國歷史這一空前的事實，是不會甘心的。它們一定要用盡千方百計，企圖破壞這個既成的事實；它們也會利用基督教，去進行它們挑撥離間，企圖在中國製造反動力量的陰謀。為要提高我們對帝國主義的警惕，為要表示基督教在新中國中鮮明的政治立場，為要促成一個為中國人自己所主持的中國教會，為要指出全國的基督徒對新中國建設所應當負起的責任，我們發表了下面這個文件。我們願意號召全國的基督徒，為實現這個文件所提供的原則而努力。 (Traditional Chinese)

今後基督教教會及團體，在宗教工作方面，應注重基督教本質的深刻認識，宗派間的團結、領導人才的培養和制度的改進；在一般工作方面，應注重反帝、反封建、反官僚資本主義的教育，及勞動生產、認識時代、文娛活動、識字教育、醫療衛生、兒童教育等為人們服務的工作。 (Traditional Chinese)
