Date of birth
[edit]Ruth Schweikert's birth date seems to be reported as either 1964 or 1965 depending on which source you take:
Sources supporting 1964:
- Website: https://www.ruthschweikert.ch/
- Schweizer Kulturpreise (award given to her in 2016): https://www.schweizerkulturpreise.ch/awards/de/home/literatur/literatur-archiv/literatur-2016/ruth-schweikert.html
- German Wikipedia references the NZZ obituary: https://trauer.nzz.ch/traueranzeige/ruth-schweikert-bergkraut
Sources supporting 1965:
- Swiss National Sound Archives: https://www.fonoteca.ch/cgi-bin/oecgi4.exe/inet_fnbasenamedetail?NAME_ID=81209.011&LNG_ID=ENU

- Munzinger: https://www.munzinger.de/search/go/document.jsp?id=00000022880
- SRF announcement of her death says she was 57 (i.e. born 1965): https://www.srf.ch/news/schweiz/schweizer-autorin-gestorben-schriftstellerin-ruth-schweikert-ist-tot
- The online NZZ article says 1965 and age 57: https://www.nzz.ch/feuilleton/ruth-schweikert-ist-im-alter-von-57-jahren-gestorben-ld.1737481?reduced=true
Source supporting both:
- Library of Congress entry lists three books as sources with different birth dates (1964 and 1965) and places (Lörrach and Aarau): https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n96050884.html
I'm not sure what to make of this, but that's the situation. The item currently has both dates.
@KurtR: Let's sort this out properly rather than editing back and forth. :-)

- The death notice of her family has 1964[1]. This is a very strong source. Then her homepage has 1964 too: [2]. These a two very strong sources. So I am sure 1964 is the right year. KurtR (talk) 01:56, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
- The obituary page does say 'Erstellt von Redaktion NZZ' (i.e. created by NZZ editors) but I suppose that's only for the page itself; the actual obituary, i.e. the picture shown below, would be by her family as you say. So yeah, I agree that's most likely correct. –JustAnotherArchivist (talk) 02:03, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
- @JustAnotherArchivist: In the pictured obituary you see the date of birth. This is also how the obituary appeared in the print newspaper, I saw it there first. Well we were able to solve the problem. Greetings KurtR (talk) 02:17, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
