I am now wd-Ryan. The new talk page is at User_talk:wd-Ryan, I'm unable to move it.
Hi, I noticed that you are a user of my browser extension wwwyzzerdd. I am considering applying for a Wikimedia grant to further its development (for one thing it needs to be rewritten to be compatible with manifest v3 before the 2023 deadline). As part of that I'm contacting some users to get some feedback. If you have some time I would appreciate if you could tell me:
- How do you find the extension? Is it useful to your work?
- What features / functionality would you like added? Are there bugs that you'd like fixed?
- What browser/OS do you use?
Thanks, any feedback is appreciated.
Oh hi! It is extremely helpful, it is good for finding things that one might not think to add to Wikidata, and also for adding a lot of data at once.
- It would be very useful to import timestamps for events and publication dates.
- A huge problem is the amount of clicks it takes to add a statement. For instance, it takes 1 to click the orb, another to start adding a statement, another to focus on the text box, another to select the right property, and finally the plus button to add it. Solution: Click the orb, automatically focuses into the text box so you can start typing immediately - most similar or shortest named property should be selected when you click enter. Then, one more click for the plus button. This makes 2 clicks, a lot more user friendly and easier on the wrists.
- Chrome on macOS
Thanks for the feedback!
Importing dates is definitely on the roadmap. It's a little tricky because it requires parsing strings values and making them linkable. It would be easy if wikis had pre-linked dates but they just don't. Maybe I'll propose this as a feature to be added as part of the grant. My current thinking about linking dates is that you would 1) highlight a date 2) right-click and pick "wwwyzzerdd parse" from the context menu 3) it will autodetect/parse it as a date 4) you select a property to link the date under.
I also agree that it takes too many clicks. I'll consider implementing your suggestion.
As you might know Bovlb have released search engine tool that allows users with rollback rights to search recently deleted items after label
I hope you will be willing to use the tool to help us to find sockpuppet accounts and report them to CheckUser (read: user recreates deleted item made by another user)
I don't have rollback rights, is this worth requesting the permission?
Definitely worth it. You already spend so much time reverting vandalism anyways
Alright I will apply even though I just applied for property creator :P
I've added some entries to significant events. Feel free to contribute, if you can find proper sourcing.
I saw! Thanks!! There is also a potential discussion about the site happening here just so you know https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Administrators%27_noticeboard#Kiwi_Farms_(Q63225180)
'Wikipedia is refusing to link to them for this reason' Well, he's not wrong.
I don't mind the URL being taken down. This user was also removing the founder, though, and said "I don't care" when I undid it saying they shouldn't.
Could you please insert the correct Google Play ID to the item?
@Trade: I believe I added the correct one, which still has a page and has existed since July 29th at the earliest.
Just wanted to let you know Q113343165 and Q113343163 is now thing
Thanks for letting me know!
Could you please give your feedback on Q111334407? I'm working on a model teim for subreddits
It looks like a good guide to me.
Q113359274, Q113359248, Q113359262
Yay! The more the merrier
What happened to Q113359259 and Q113359260?
Fixed
Thanks! Also, I used Listeria to make this list you might want to see https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:AntisocialRyan/Software_resources/auto
Nice
Do you know how to make catalogs for Mix n Match? I forgot if you have made any before
Hi! I have made a few. The last time I tried, though, it never worked on their end, so it might not for you either. Here is the page I used to learn: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mix%27n%27match/Import
I couldn't be active this week, sorry.
Was it PD you tried with?
Nope, it was a list of subreddits, but I think they must've been having problems on their end. Please do try to make a PD one. I haven't been able to scrape that site or get a good list.
A ctalog of every single subreddit in existence? That's more than a million entries
Oh no no, not every subreddit, it was like the top 1000 or so.
What list were you trying to scrape from and what problem were you running into specifically? Talking about the top 1000 subreddits
I just downloaded a list from somewhere online. I believe mix-n-match wasn't letting me import anything at the time. Pretty much just ignore what I said

Could you be more specific where you got it from?
I don't know, I just found a plain text list somewhere on Google. It really doesn't matter to me anymore
Oh, okay. What were the catalogs you managed to do?
I have my catalogs listed on my user page, under my proposed properties :)
Any idea how to make a catalog for Fandom wikis?
You need a text file in this format:
id,name,desc
minecraft,Minecraft Wiki,description of the wiki
terraria,Terraria Wiki,description of the wiki
animals,Animal Wiki,description of the wiki
...
Description is optional but helpful.
Sounds like that would be for the entire Wiki?
Oh, for a single wiki, same thing. You just need the IDs and names of each item.
I only wanna catalog a specific category
I don't know what that means, but you can do anything you want with that format. Just put the IDs, a comma, and their name. If you don't have good names, just set them to ID as well.
There doesn't seem to be anywhere to upload the text file
Yeah i have zero idea how to use this thing.
You import using this link: https://mix-n-match.toolforge.org/#/import/
Select File when adding the source, and it should let you upload it. Then, click the test button to see if it worked.
Under the Data column it just says 'gta,GTA Wiki,GTA Wiki (fandom) radio stations '
Ah, you have to include the top row "id,name, desc". These are called headers in CSV.
Without the " i presume? Trying to make a catalog of https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Radio_Stations if it wasn't clear
Can you put your file into Pastebin or something and show me? I'll check it out
Oh okay, so basically, if you want to make a catalog of those pages, you do something like this:
id,name
gta:Anvil,Anvil
gta:Austin Allegro Chase,Austin Allegro Chase
gta:Deadmau5,Deadmau5
The "id" is the value you want on a Wikidata item. The name is just for matching. You will set the property on the import page, not in the file.

What would you say is the easiest way to extract the entries? Copy pasting the ID and names by hand takes some time
That is the alt text. Most of the time it is not as easy as copying and pasting. I suppose an extension that removes images from a webpage would fix that.
Do you know if there is an easy way to add gta: in front of all the entrie? Using OpenOffice
If you can find & replace every new line, that would help.
What do you mean? I basically had to add it manually to each entry which is a pain
loading data headers.... Welp, i have a feeling this is gonna take a while
Like, the new line character, \n... This is advanced text manipulation haha
Yeah im pretty clueless lol
If you have specific things you want to do, I can probably just do them myself, I've been working a lot with CSVs and text manipulation like this. Just let me know.
I also got the subreddit catalog working: https://mix-n-match.toolforge.org/#/catalog/5305 (It is a lot of NSFW)
Thanks, that's appreciated. How long time should the loading data headers... take?
https://pastebin.com/HzZqpxh4 This is the text file i used
Did you include the headers at the top? id,name
Mix'n'match does take a long time to import the catalog. If you can access its page, just wait like an hour or so.
https://justpaste .it /5umrp
Yes, that should work, but if you're using tabs instead of commas, you must select "TSV" instead of "CSV". I also don't know how it deals with empty lines, it is probably fine though. If it isn't showing on the front page then something went wrong.
There doesn't seem to be an option to select TSV on the page
Sorry I thought it was abbreviated, it says "Tab-separated values"
Tried but the only entity in the data column is id,name https://i.imgur.com/h9qfwU3.png
It may look weird but that is actually intended. Everything looks good!
So, there doesn't seem to be a 'create' or 'continue' button anywhere. It says that A catalog with this property already exists so that might be the problem
What is supposed to happen after the data columns shows up? Sorry, i know this takes much of your time
There should be a button to test it, and a checkbox that says "Looks good". Once you do both of those there should be a button to import.
The text dissapears sometimes but now i'm running it
The test have been running for more than a hour now
That was my problem one time. It should be pretty much instant. Can you show me the current file you're trying to import?
https://justpaste. it /1zugp
It's the lack of _ in the ID's, isn't it?
No, if you are using tabs instead of commas, the header should also be tabs instead of commas.
id[tab]name
Test button doesn't really show up
Have this ever happened to you with the test button not appearing?
I'm not sure. Not that I know of
https://pastebin.com/7dL7tEqU Does it work if you try to import it?
If that is the exact file you're uploading, the header should be tabs, not new lines. Try this. https://pastebin.com/vxAZYD43
Tried your pastebin. https://i.imgur.com/Hkf2Zzx.png
Any reason you use not safe for work instead of Q83807365?
Hello AntisocialRyan, could you help to add this to the 68 editions of Wikipedia articles of Amber Heard Q229166?
Request was originally posted on en.wiki - https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Amber_Heard&diff=1093300317&oldid=1093099037
Thank you.
All set! I did it but you can also do this at the bottom of any Wikidata item. Thanks for asking, and let me know if you have other questions!
Thank you Ryan for your help, the Heard entry is semi-protected, I think my account here is not experienced enough to edit it.
Ah I see, that makes sense, happy to help!
