With the pending update of RadControls "Prometheus" for
ASP.NET quite a few customers have asked us whether it is safe to use
Prometheus controls in production when the suite has a Beta tag. Before I answer the question, I’d like to add some background on what RadControls "Prometheus"
is. RadControls “Prometheus” is the next generation of our ASP.NET
product line. It’s built on top of ASP.NET AJAX and provides the
richest, most powerful and fastest toolset for delivering rich ASP.NET
applications. It has all of the benefits of the existing suite plus
incredible performance improvements, great integration between all
elements of the UI package and adds some amazing new components. This begs the question - if...
Shortly after the release of Q2 2007 SP1 in October we have started re-factoring RadGridView for WinForms. Our aim was to provide our clients with a stable, performing and usable product - tasks of great importance both to our customers, and to us being the supporting party.
Last week we released the beta of RadControls for WinForms Q3 2007, which includes our newest controls, but it does not give much details on our progress with vNEXT of RadGridView. So I decided to provide you with an update of the current standing of our RadGridView for WinForms control and our future...

the Telerik site, special gratitude to Noel Rice for the involvement. If
you are interested in learning more about RadGrid and how to customize
it in various scenarios, now is the time to broaden your knowledge and
increase your grid coding skills. Do not wait any longer and visit this

Scary, isn't it?With a brand new Vista and VS2008 on my laptop, I was just about to migrate some old projects of mine in the new studio format. The conversion wizard went smoothly but when I tried to rebuild the accompanying C# website I was greeted by the following dreadful error message:The CodeDom provider type "Microsoft.VJSharp.VJSharpCodeProvider, VJSharpCodeProvider, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" could not be located. That's it. No File, no line, no project. Nowhere to look for the specific problem. Yay! A check of the web.config and the project references showed nothing suspicious -- google seemed to be the only reasonable option. A...
Carried away in working on all fronts, we completely forgot to organize a big bash for Telerik’s 5th birthday. Time flies fast – I remember well how 5 years ago I was sitting with the other founders in a small room and we could never reach consensus what kind of music we should play (having a rule not to have a headset and be mindful about the other people’s preferences is a good team-building exercise).
We had to settle for “just” a team-building event in the mountains and quietly celebrate our "Best Employer" award and our fifth anniversary but another development came...
As all of you are now aware that Visual Studio 2008 RTM has shipped I would shed more light on how this affects RadControls for ASP.NET in terms of new features and roadmap. Needless to say, Visual Studio 2008 and ASP.NET 3.5 release is a key milestone for Telerik and we will make sure all customer requirements are covered with the new features of the IDE and framework. We have been testing RadControls compatibility with Visual Studio 2008 (codenamed "Orcas") since early builds of the IDE and the community is happy to see that RadControls are mostly working as expected ...
Several days ago, a customer of ours had an interesting issue with RadWindow and Telerik Reporting. The idea was to show a ReportViewer in a RadWindow while the RadWindow automatically resizes itself to fit the dimensions of the content page. I thought this would be a nice example to have, therefore I have created a small sample based on this task and filmed it. I hope it will be of help for the community :) Generally speaking, the steps that must be taken in such scenario are: Create a new web site with RadWindow and set up the database (in the...
Last Friday was a very big day for Telerik, but as I was on the plane I couldn’t blog about it immediately. I am very excited to share that we received the 2007 award for best employer in the “Small and Medium Business” category in Bulgaria. The study is conducted by Hewitt Associates, the world's largest provider of multi-service HR business process outsourcing (BPO), and surveyed over 13,000 professionals from 70 of the leading companies and MNCs operating in Bulgaria. A few months ago, when we decided to participate, our goal was pretty simple – to see what are the problem areas...
