Haunted Little Tokyo Scavenger Hunt is a family-friendly, Halloween celebration that leads guests through Little Tokyo. Budokan serves as the hub where there are fun games and activities for all ages. This event is connected to the larger “Haunted Little Tokyo” celebration, which was started by local businesses in the community to draw more folks to Little Tokyo. Besides the scavenger hunt, there are also ghost tours and the famous block party!

Here, local residents could sign up for same-day medical care, get connected to resources, and pick up helpful supplies, like clothing and pantry items.

San Tai San

San Tai San is DTLA’s only free, co-ed, intergenerational 3v3 basketball tournament. With divisions from first-graders to 40+-year-olds, everyone is welcome to join! This tournament was originally held outdoors on San Pedro Street in the early 2000s to fundraise for the construction of our facility. We now host this tournament in the gym that many helped build!

Join us for our sixth annual Terasaki Budokan Golf Tournament. Proceeds from this event will go towards Terasaki Budokan. Our mission is to provide a facility in Downtown Los Angeles for youth, families, and seniors that offers sports, community activities and opportunities to connect visitors to Japanese American culture and to a vibrant, sustainable Little Tokyo.

Kibō Nobori

Kibō Nobori is a free event for the community in celebration of Children’s Day featuring art, music, performances, an AAPI marketplace, food, and activities for the whole family. This event is planned in partnership between Terasaki Budokan and artist Faith-Ann Kiwa Young, who founded the Kibō Nobori.

This year will feature a curated AANHPI marketplace by @filledmarket, which you may know from their partnership with @smorgasburgla!

Live Inside This State Fair

Bon Iver presents Live Inside This State Fair on Saturday, April 12th at Terasaki Budokan. In addition to SABLES vs fABLES, the three game basketball tournament, there will be vendors including Fishwife and Canyon Coffee, a pop-up Hrrrbek Photo Studio with Graham Tolbert, Haircuts by Hope, and a Fun Raffle Helping People for a chance to win various album-related prizes. Going Underground Records will be onsite selling copies of SABLE, fABLE and will be handing out copies of the limited edition companion zine with purchase while supplies last.
