About The Aesthetic Society
The Aesthetic Society is the world’s leading organization devoted exclusively to aesthetic plastic surgery and cosmetic medicine of the face and body. Comprised of more than 5,000 members, the Society’s Active Members are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (USA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Affiliated Specialty Members hold certification from boards recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) as well as Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) who specialize in Plastic Surgery, Otolaryngology, or Facial Plastic Surgery and are not ABMS-certified, while International Active Members are certified by equivalent authorities in their respective countries.
All members uphold the highest ethical standards for professional conduct as outlined in the Society’s Bylaws, Code of Ethics, and Conflict of Interest Policy, and must meet rigorous membership requirements.

Advertisements, acknowledgements, and notices of exhibitor support or participation in The Aesthetic Society or The Aesthetic Foundation trade shows are not to be interpreted as endorsements of any vendor, product, or service. This policy protects the integrity of the Society’s educational mission and ensures that industry collaboration remains transparent, balanced, and ethical.

Social Media Policy
The Aesthetic Society Social Media Policy establishes professional and ethical standards for members’ use of digital and social platforms. It reinforces patient privacy, informed consent, and HIPAA compliance—emphasizing that patient participation must always be voluntary and protected.
The policy defines clear expectations for truthful, respectful, and transparent online content consistent with the Society’s Code of Ethics. It prohibits misleading advertising, sensationalized surgical depictions, and unethical marketing practices, holding members accountable for their own and their staff’s online behavior.
Approved by the Board of Directors in August 2025, the policy promotes professionalism, integrity, and patient trust across all digital communications.

Advocacy Support
The Aesthetic Society actively supports advocacy efforts to protect and advance the specialty of aesthetic plastic surgery.
