Armed & Dangerous

I'm zero focused today because I've got a case of the wiggle worms. It's a serious condition brought on by eating too many candy canes on the Friday before Christmas. I'm told, there is no cure and that I just have to ride it out.

Symptoms include ...

Inability to focus on edits. 

Not being able to sit still long enough to edit.

Not wanting to edit and ...

Velcro-ing elf ears on the pups.

If you see someone with this rabid condition, do not approach the subject. Warning, do not approach. Subject is armed with Christmas lights and considered dangerous.

Friday Question (now with more onions)

I'm pooped. I spent today (it's Wednesday night as I write this), editing my eyes are burning. Tomorrow, I'm unplugging for the day and I'm finally gonna dealing with the tools. We have a second bathtub, we don't use. So we store stuff in there. Well, it's time for the circular saw and drills to say goodbye until spring.

In other news, I tossed a bunch of un-peeled onions in an air fryer and guess what I ended up with? A chutney/relish spicy goodness. If you fancy onions, please have a look.

PS: Friday Question. Guess how many times I've used my new Vitamix so far?

Three dead spiders and a cup of pickle juice is you get it wrong. Two snowballs and cupcake if you get it right. Only thing is, I'm not gonna tell ya' what I made the cupcake out of.

My new Vitamix is almost here and I'm jumping out of my skin. Tim just texted me an image of the box (he's in town during his work day and picked the Vitamix up at the post). He should be home soon. My first Vitamix!

Hey Boogerbutts! I don't know what to do with this space? I'm lost and mildly frustrated.

The idea was to turn this into a central location for everything, blogs, MeWe, videos, podcasts... but that doesn't feel right either. So, I'm just gonna come back to blogging for now until I figure it out.

In other news, it's a beautiful snow-filled day outside but not so cold that my toes freeze to the fabric of my socks. So that's a plus. BLOW THIS SUCKER UP

Hello Boogerbutts.

It's been awhile and here's why. I've been working behind the scenes, followed by a 10-day staycation but also, I don't enjoy my blog space, anymore. Since I don't like my page, I don't come here. My blog feels cluttered, cramped, crowded, and useless, but in real life that's not how I feel. And since this blog has always been a mirror of my life - it's time to fix this space to reflect that.

So, I'm shutting down my blog to rebuild her. We have the technology (Bionic Woman reference - I still own/watch that show and love it!).

I digress.

This space may show an invite only notice, but that's NOT true. It'll be shut down for everyone until I rebuild. You'll still be able to reach me on email.

Thanks for being a part of my old life. But now, it's time for me to blow this sucker up and start fresh.

WHAT AM I?

Hello Gang! I don't know about you but this past weekend I was pooped, pooped, pooped. I slept most of Saturday. But on Friday, Tim took off and we saw Avengers. That was fun. No spoilers. Just gonna say, I LOVE superhero movies.

In other news, Tim and I start our free month trial for a new podcast host. I had no idea we needed one. So much to learn, but that's a good thing.

It's about midnight here. Tim just finished writing. I'm back from the market and tomorrow, I get to make pasta sauce with tinned tomatoes that I got from Big Lots. Never tried them before but I'm excited to give them a go. Then for the weekend, Stromboli!!!! Yeah, baby.

And that my Boogerbutts, is all that's fit to print. I'm off to my coffin soon. Zzzzz....

GUESS WHAT I DID?

It's Sunday and we're outside because when it's warm, we lug our kitchen table to the back deck. The kitchen has sliding doors so it's super easy. But I'm not here to talk about sliding doors. Nope nope. I've got news!

Last Friday, I recorded my first podcast and soon I'll be on iTunes. It's been about 2 years post declutter, and I celebrated by doing a podcast. Also, 2 years and NOTHING has grown back.

How about them apples?

The Great Declutter of 2016 (update)

Hello Boogerbutts!

This is my new laundry space and I love it. For those of you who don't already know, back in 2016 I did what Norma dubbed, The Great Declutter of 2016 - in which I ditched 95 percent of my stuff. Including cupboards that were too high and/or that I just hated.

In other new, after MANY tries, I couldn't get the baker's rack to work in my lab. So... this past weekend, I moved said rack into the laundry area. Now I have a place to fold and hold cleaning supplies. Where with the other shelf, it just held supplies. I think... think... just maybe... this might be the winner.

I'M OVER THE MOON (20K views)

Yesterday, I was all kinds of behind. For about four seconds, I wanted to skip my YouTube deadline. But that's not how this works. Unless I'm dealing with a health issue that has me to be couch-bound, I gotta work.

But I'm not gonna lie, I did a happy dance when I was DONE!

Guess what? I hit 20,000 views and I'm OVER THE MOON. In two months I went from 10K to 20K. Not too shabby for a newbie.

TATER TOT WAFFLES

I spent MOST of the day outside. My hands are beat up from working, but I don't care. I loved every minute and even found more wild garlic.

And... it's been four months of air frying and I'm still OVER THE MOON with this oven. Today, I baked stuffed peppers for the first time. 15 minutes. No preheat. Stuffed pepper for one? Yes please!

Each new season means a fun challenge and for Spring, I pick jogging. I miss the meditation and effort that comes with getting to the half-marathon mark. Second half-marathon, here I come.

In other news, it's Monday night. Tim's gaming with the guys, the pups are crunching bones and I'm at the kitchen table listening to Bon Jovi's, Knockout. I haven't jogged to it yet, but you can bet your front teeth, that's what I'll be doing first thing Tuesday morning.

Unplugged +Friday Question

I wasn't raised with Internet so spending my time unplugged, rather than online, comes naturally. I'm a mad scientist who picks lab days over anything else.

ALWAYS.

But let's travel back to my post about consistency, which refers to publishing on social. There's no point in doing the behind the scenes work, if I'm not consistently uploading.

I invested in better video editing software, implemented deadlines, and dropped one YouTube publishing day. That last one sounds counter-intuitive.

By dropping one posting day on YouTube, I doubled my total published works across multiple platforms -- WITHOUT sacrificing my unplugged quiet time -- which is when I do the bulk of my creating.

MY WEEKEND BLEW CHUNKS

Hello Boogerbutts. What's up? How was your weekend? Mine blew chunks. Spent the ENTIRE time in bed with a head cold that was so heavy I fell over each time I sat up in bed. So that was my weekend.

Today, I'm back to work with lots of rest breaks. Two thumbs up for sitting upright!

In other news, well, I don't have any other news. That's pretty much all I got. Catch ya'll in a week or two. Happy Almost SPRING !!!! (or Autumn!).

Hello Boogerbutts! Happy Weekend. Tim's got three days off and I'm so hungry that I could eat all the onion petals in the house. In case you haven't heard, I love my air fyer oven. Been playing with onion petals, rings and such, more on that another time. I'm just hungry.

FIGHTING THE DOUBT MONSTER

For the last 24 hours I've been fighting The Doubt Monster. He's a big bastard of a fudge who comes by every now and again just to let me know he's still breathing.

I hate him.  

He can suck it.

Most times, I push him aside because I'm working and don't have time or interest in his nonsense. But yesterday, he hung around too long.

Soon, I started to doubt myself and my YouTube channel. When Tim got home we talked it out, and today I'm back to myself. Albeit a little groggy, but back to making videos and having fun.

I'll take it.

I've been off my scheduled bedtime but now back(ish), on track. As for blogging, I want back as well. But for today, I'm cheating with a 3 minute vlog.

In other news, this weekend I chopped off my hair, hit 10,000 views on YouTube and our windshield got cracked. No idea how. Not excited about cost of fixing it.

RESTAURANT STORE (muwhahahaha!)

Today was my first FULL work day and I flippin' loved it. And guess what else? Tim came home for lunch. Bonus points all around.

Over the weekend, Tim helped me clean out the fridge and I'm happy to report that the kitchen/lab is working - or at least will work until spring when we you know what happens ....

I'M STUCK IN LIMBO

Even after decluttering to the tune of 95 percent, I'm still stuck in limbo when it comes to my lab aka, kitchen. But once we demo the cupboards, I'll be able to make my industrial work space with major focus on shooting videos. Lots and lots and LOTS of videos.  But until then, limbo it is.

In other news, we have a 3-day weekend coming up and I REALLY, REALLY want to be well enough to go to the restaurant store.

MY KITCHEN MAKES ME NUTS

So ... my kitchen is all moved around again. The baker's rack which I use as a filming bench, is sorta working and sorta not. I still don't have a home for my cookery and bake books. BUT .... none of this (including being sick), has stopped me from shooting video.

Which I flippin' love doing. 

I gotta get my face in front of the camera, if I want my channel to keep growing. Having a face, helps. But I'm still too chicken shit.

Meanwhile, check it out. Air-fry potatoes for breakfast. No oil. No preheat. Look at that golden colour. Want to know my secret? It's turmeric. Oh my yum!
