After dinner at Romanè, walk five minutes to Cornetteria Guardabascio and cap off your night with a late-night pastry (or grab a few for the morning). Everything here is fresh, hot, and designed to ruin your self-control. The highlights include the pistachio-filled croissant, oozing with rich cream, as well as the massive sugar-dusted doughnuts. There's no seating here, so grab your pastries, find a curb, and go to town.

There’s some real pastry magic happening at Pasticceria Grue, a fancy bakery in Parioli.
Forno Degli Amici, a bakery in Esquilino, excels in creating flavor combos you never knew you needed.
