You don’t come to Vinaietto for the best meal of your life. You come to stand outside on the uneven cobblestone street, wine glass in hand, striking up conversations with strangers. You’ll sip sparkling wines from northern Italy or Primitivo from Puglia, but don’t expect any substantial pairings—here, the only sustenance is a humble hard-boiled egg. All that adds up to a certifiable Roman classic establishment. Head here for a glass or two before dinner at Emma.
Beppe E I Suoi Formaggi is located in a narrow space in the Jewish Ghetto where you can try a wide variety of cheeses.
Latteria Trastevere is a wine bar with great daily pasta specials and a leafy outside space.
