Puqi Shrine Diorama

𔓘 A few months ago, I shared how I made my Hualian dolls. In that blog I mentioned making this diorama a few years ago and that I was close to completing it.

Here it finally is!

𔓘 The stove is made out of cardboard, the sleeping matt out of painted plastic straws (ignore the chipped paint on one of them lmao) and the vines are crochet. Oh, and the cute little panda is an eraser.

𔓘 I've had this decorative umbrella for over a decade and I just went over the design with gold paint and glitter since it was perfect.

I made the mistake of thinking about Hua Cheng being the pope for the church of Xie Lian. Speeches from a balcony that he jumps out of to make a statement about how they met. Creating giant stained glass windows of Xie Lian face. Giant bejewelled robes and a huge butterfly shaped hat. Yin Yu becoming the driver for Hua Cheng’s pope mobile. Poetic Cinema.

The King's Dancer by Nana8493, part 1 of The King's Omega series, including art by @ying-an-sanren and Anxxie

Firstly, a giant thank you to the author and artists for allowing me to bind this! I originally read this fic last year while on holiday and loved it! I came across the fic on wattpad and had no idea it was AO3 until I recently stumbled upon it by complete accident. AO3's formatting is much kinder to binders than wattpad, so I was overjoyed the chance to bind it was more accessible!

This bind was a lot of firsts - first time designing with Affinity, first time using stencils for page-edge decoration, and first time sewing my own headbands. While the headbands are a tad rough, I am overall very pleased with them and look forward to continuing to practice in the future!

I'm still contemplating if I want to bind the sequel as 1 book or split it into 3... Guess I'll figure that out once I've finished formatting and know what the page count will be!
