IAR March Challenge

 Hey, Crafty Friends!!
It's that time again... time for a new CHALLENGE over at the I Am Roses Challenge Blog!!
Today, I created this lovely card using lots of coral tones throughout...

I Am Roses Products Used Used

Other Products Used
Mega Runner (Xyron)
Big Shot (Sizzix)
Big Shot Glitter Cutting Pads (Sizzix)
Tim Holtz Gothic Gate (Sizzix)
Life Changing Blending Brushes (Picket Fence Studios)
Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink- Worn Lipstick (Ranger Ink)
140 lb White Cardstock (Accent)
Coral Cardstock (Bazzill)
Tim Holtz Idea-ology Chit Chat Word Stickers (Advantus)
Foam Adhesive
Liquid Glue

I started with a 5"x7" card base made from 110 lb white cardstock. Then matted it with a 4.75" x6.75" piece of coral cardstock, followed by a 4.5 " x6.5" patterned paper from DCWV's Peri & Peach stack.
I attached my layers onto the card base using my Xyron Mega Runner.

I ran a piece of kraft cardstock and leftover coral cardstock through my Xyron Creative Station. Then die cut them both using the Tim Holtz Gothic Gate die and my Big Shot machine. Then attached the two pieces together to get a really thick die-cut.

I die-cut leaves using David Tutera Eucalyptus leaf die and blended on some Worn Lipstick  Distress Oxide Ink.

Then, I attached the leaves onto my card front using a clear drying liquid adhesive.

To build my bouquet, I twisted a couple of White Puffy Semi Rose Buds together along with a tiny Salmon Achillea Cottage Flower. I glued that over my eucalyptus leaves.

Next, I added a White Tea Rose then two Medium Variegated Coral Red Daisies and then ended with another tiny Salmon Achillea Cottage Flower.

Finally, I used a phrase from Tim Holtz's Chit Chat Word Stickers stack that reads "the promise of all things made new" and popped it up with a bit of foam adhesive mounted on the back and placed and attached the strip across the gate.

And here is my finished card...

I love the details in I Am Roses' flowers! The creases and fold in the rose petals and the varying color tones in their variegated flowers... It's absolutely gorgeous! They look almost real!

I hope you enjoyed my project for today and it inspires you to join along on this month's challenge!!

February IAR Challenge - Trust Your Heart Card

Hey, Crafty Friends!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's day and was showered with love. Though I firmly believe love should be shown and expressed every day and not just one day a year, which is why I created this gorgeous card for this month's  I Am Roses Challenge!

Are you new to the I Am Roses Challenges? Head on over to their blog (HERE) for more details on how to enter, amazing prizes you could win, and lots of inspiration from the IAR design team and previous winners!

Now, for my card, I used the following...

I Am Roses Supplies Used
Other Supplies Used
Big Shot (Sizzix)
Double Stitched Heart Dies (Pink and Main)
Coral Couture Stack (DCWV)
Double-sided Colored Cardstock (DCWV)
110 lb Cardstock- White, Kraft (Recollections)
Natural Hemp Twine
Self Adhesive Flower Jewels
Liquid Glue

I started with a 5"x7" card base made from 110 lb white cardstock, a 5"x7" piece of bright orangey-red cardstock, and a 4 3/4"x 6 3/4" Piece of teal patterned paper from the Coral Couture Stack. Then layered and attached them together using my Xyron Mega Runner.

Then I used my Sizzix Big Shot and Pink and Main'sDouble Stitched Heart Dies to cut a heart from Coral Red polka-dot paper from the Coral Couture Stack.

And then I die cut kraft cardstock using a leaf die from Diamond Press' Foliage Stamp & Die Kit.

I then attached the heart onto the card front using my Xyron Mega Runner. And used liquid glue to attach my leaves in a curve around the heart.

Here's where it really starts to come to life...

Next, I added I Am Roses Small Green Leaves and followed the same curve as the kraft leaves.

Then, I added all the smaller flowers.  First, the Mini Peach Round Roses...
then, the Small White Lillies & White Achillea Cottage Flowers.

Then added a single Medium White Lilly before filling up the gaps with three Medium Salmon Red May Roses.

I curled discarded stems for swirly vines and a randomly tucked them throughout my floral swag.
Then, I  made a multi-loop bow from hemp twine and tucked it neatly under a couple of leaves.

I added the TRUST YOUR HEART sentiment from Tim Holtz Quote Chips and surrounded the heart with self-adhesive flower jewels which I also sprinkled throughout.

And here is my finished card...

I hope you enjoyed my card for this month's IAR Challenge and it inspires you to join in on the fun!!
You could win some amazing prizes!

Thanks for stopping by!!

XOXO

Hi again, Crafty Friends!!
I think it's pretty clear that February is the month of Love. And I'm back again with Fleurette Bloom Stamps... whom has just asked me to be a part of their Design Team!!! Eeeeeek!! How cool is that??!!

I don't know about you but hearing great news like that always make me feel loved! And I've been in a very lovey-dovey type of mood lately... lots of warm fuzzies!

And what says love better than red roses...I think roses are very romantic, by the way!

So, I made this simple, elegant, and "tres romantique" card using...

Other Supplies Used
Clean Color Real Brush 60ct (Kuretake/ Zig)
Momento Tuxedo Black Ink (Imagine Crafts/ Tsukineko)
 Mixed Media Paper (Strathmore)
Hello Darlin Stack (DCWV Inc.)
Chalk Cardstock (DCWV Inc.)
Mega Runner (Xyron)
Stitched Circle Dies (Pink and Main)
Whimsy Embossing Folders (We R Memory Keepers)
Moxie Font Dies (Quickutz/ Lifestyle Crafts)
Fishtail Flag STAX (My Favorite Things)
White Gel Pen (Sakura)
Fabric Tac
Heart Cabochon

I started by stamping my image with Momento Tuxedo Black ink, a total of three times.
Next, I colored them using Kuretake's Clean Color Real Brush Pens and I added highlights using a white gel pen.

I cut out two of the images by hand, and the third I die cut using a stitched circle die. Then embossed the die cut with an embossing folder.

I added foam adhesive to the back of the flowers and layered them onto each other for more dimension and removed one of the flowers for the very top layer.

I used this light green paper from the Hello Darlin Stack by DCWV and created a A7 (5"x 7" folded) sized card base.

Then die cut printed text paper from the same stack using a stitched rectangle die. You can hardly see it but the print has lots of inspirational sayings and phrases.

I used my Xyron Mega Runner to attach my rectangle to the front of my card base.

I used the same circle die from earlier and traced around the outside diameter of the die as a template. Then hand cut out the traced shape and layered it under my paper pieced roses.

I added foam tape under the circle for more dimension then adhered it to my card front.

I die cut a pennant and the letters XOXO and adhered the little flag to the card, slightly tucking it behind the circle.

Lastly, I added a heart shaped cabochon using a clear quick dry adhesive.

You can really see all the added dimension with all the different layers (above picture).

Finished Card

I really hope you enjoyed my project for today and that it filled you with
a bit of love, a little romance, or even some heartfelt inspiration.

XOXO,
Mitsy

Sneak Peak with Pink and Main

Supplies Used
Florals Stamp Set ( Pink and Main, August Release)
eBrush (Craftwell)
Paper (DCWV-  Project Stack Stencils)
Mega Runner (Xyron)
Edgeabilities- Classic Petal (Spellbinders)
Spectrum Noir Markers- LG2, LG3, LG4, GB6
Gold Embossing Powder (Hero Arts)
Paper Hydrangeas (Prima Marketing)
Paper Roses (unknown brand)
Stamens (Wilton)
VersaMark Ink Pad
Heat tool
Heart shaped brads
Diamond Glaze (Judikins)

I started by ebrushing one side of my paper with my Spectrum Noir Markers in LG2, LG3, and LG4. Then I used my stem/ leaves  and my sentiment from my Pink and Main Floral set and stamped it onto my paper using my VersaMark ink pad. I dusted it with gold embossing powder and heat embossed it with my heat gun.

I ran my piece through my die cut machine with my border from the Classic Petal set to make the decorative edge.

I took the remaining cut off piece and ebrushed the decorative edged side only, again in LG2, LG3, and LG4 and set aside.

I gessoed some paper roses and then ebrushed them with more LG2 and LG3. I adhered all my flowers onto my cardstock using liquid adhesive but before it set I stamens under my flowers.

Once my adhesive was dry I used my Xyron Mega Runner to adhere my decorative strips together. giving about a one inch gap between the decorative edges. I adhered it to my A2 sized card base I made using papers from DCWV's stencil stack. Can you believe even the craft cardstock was in this awesome stack!!

And here is my finished card!!

Hope you enjoyed this super quick tutorial!

See you all next time!!

Mother's Day Chocolate Flower Arrangement

Hello Crafty Friends! I'm back again with another "flowery" project!
As you all know, Mother's day is on May 10th... that just gives you a week to come up with something ultra fabulous for dear ol' Mom. Anyone can buy flower arrangements but how many people can say they actually made their mom flowers?! Probably not that many... So this Mother's Day why not make your mom an awesome assortment of chocolate flowers?!

Tools and Supplies Needed
Teresa Collins Pocket Dies- Girls Best Friend Collection- (You'll need the FLOWER dies and BOW die from this set)
Cardstock
Flower Pot ( I used an 7" pot)
Styrofoam ball( I used a 6" ball)- cut in half
4" Styrofoam Block
15 pc. of Chocolate ( I used Ferrero Rocher but little Dove square will also work)
Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Stylus
Wax Paper
Scissors
Optional
eBrush and Markers

The following sandwich was used to cut my paper with my dies:

From Bottom to Top
D Plate
A Plate
Magnetic Platform
Die
Paper
Metal Platform
A Plate

I used the Biggest of my flower dies and cut out 2 pieces for each flower. Making it a total of 30 LARGE flowers.

And with my BOW die (not the tails) I cut my green cardstock to make...
LEAVES... And the great thing about using this die is that it cuts 2 leaves at a time. Also, because the Teresa Collins Dies are made heavy duty I can cut them a  few layers at a time.
I cut them down the middle and shaped the cut end to a point, making my bows resemble leaves. You will need 2 leaves for each flower, plus additional leaves to use as fillers. I cut an extra 10 just for this, making it a total of 40 leaves.

Back to the flowers...
I made cuts about an half an inch cut between each petal cutting toward the center. This gave my flower separate petals while still keeping my flower whole.

I like my flowers to very detailed and when possible try to make them look as realistic as possible.
With my ebrush and markers I airbrushed my edges along my flower to give them more depth. I also did this same technique around the edges of my leaves as well.

With my stylus and with the help of some wax paper and a rubber mouse pad I formed my flowers into bowls by rubbing my stylus in a circular motion around my petals.

I then hot glued them in place so the bowls would hold their shape. I used 2 flowers, 2 leaves, and 1 chocolate (for the center) for each complete flower. For this project I used 15 flowers.

I cut my styrofoam  block to the size of my pots and then glued it into my pot. I then glued my half a styrofoam ball on top of that.  I then glued in my flowers to my ball base. First starting with the bottom layer and working my way in.

At this point glued in my additional leaves where there were open gaps, covering any exposed styrofoam.

I decided at the last minute to make a matching card to go with my Mother's Day gift...

It came together very quickly... I used a couple more extra leaves and cut out 2 medium flowers and 2 small flowers from the scrap pieces of paper I used to make the large flowers. Repeated the same "bowling" of my flowers and created a mini flower to match my bouquet.

I attached my mini flower to a piece of craft cardstock I embossed with the Teresa Collins Diamond Motif embossing folder. I then stamped and cut out my sentiment using Pink and Main's Super Mom stamp set and then I adhered all my pieces together.

My Result... A gift that looks good enough to eat... literally!!

I hope you enjoyed my Mother's Day Chocolate Bouquet!!

See you again next time!!

Romantic Rose Thank You Card & Free SVG

Supplies Used
eBrush (Craftwell)

Teresa Collins Cut'n'Boss machine (Craftwell)

Teresa Collins pocket dies (doily, leaves, and framed ticket/ label)
Spectrum Noir Markers (CR3, FS8, GB10, TN7, CG2, DG3)
Moment ink pad (Tsukineko- Tuxedo Black)
Sentiment Stamp (Virginia Turtle- Hedgehugs & Daisies)
12x12 sheet of acetate (overhead projection sheets or tansparencies would work fine)
Light box & stylus
Foam adhesive
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Double-sided adhesive
Blue painter's tape
Flower stamens
Feathers

First, I downloaded the free SVG file from the Craftwell blog. Then I cut it out of acetate with my digital cutter. I separated and re-sized into 6"x 6" squares. I  made sure I used a sharp blade and did a multi cut. At least 2, but 3 times is better. This will make your stencils.

I taped my first stencil down to my work surface using blue painter's tape to hold it securely n place. I then sprayed down my first layer using my eBrush aand Spectrum Noir in CR3. The first stencil was the biggest flower of the templates.

This sis the result after just spraying the first stencil!! Looks good already!

I repeated the steps with second biggest flower stencil and instead of CR3, i used FS8. I know totally different color families... but hey. it works! I can start to see the flower building!! Looks awesome!

For the smallest details of the flower I actually layered 2 different colors on top of each other. I first used GB10 then TN7... Those two blended together to make that reddish brown above. This flower is looking outstanding!!

`
I saved the leaves for last to make sure the flower lined up properly. For the leaves I also used 2 different greens. Spectrum Noir CG2 and DG3. I ebrushed a base of CG2 then only accented it with DG3 around the edges. AND OH MY... the results... GORGEOUS!!!

Then I took each stencil (one at a time) and layered it over their matching image, taped it to my paper with blue painter's tape, and then flipped it over and used a stylus to emboss and raise the image.

Check out these results!! It gave the flower a lot of POP!! LOVE IT!!

Then with my Pocket Dies from Teresa Collins and my Cut'n'Boss. I cut out my pieces. I cut my doily into fourths... you'll see why in the next pic.

This is how  I assembled my card. the doily wasn't big enough to cover the whole back and my rose image would have been completely covered. So this is a good way to fake the appearance of a having a huge die without actually having one!

Check out all the layers and dimension!!

I lastly attached my feathers leaves, and paper rose, Which I also ebrushed with the same Spectrum Noir markers above (CR3 &  FS8). I then stamped my sentiment. This is from Virginia Turtle's Hedgehugs & Daisies set.    I love the font used... It coordinates with the card perfectly!!

Here is the beautiful end result!! I just love it! I am definitely going to using this stencil over and over! It is very romantic!

Special Thanks to Judith Kim for making such an AWESOME file!!

Hope you all enjoyed this tutorial!
