Helping the helpers: Nurse-scientist focuses on family caregivers of dementia patients
Dedicated to supporting the family members who care for loved ones with dementia, Carolyn E. Pickering, PhD, RN, is advancing research at Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston that sheds light on how caregivers make decisions, manage medications, and cope with stress. Backed by philanthropic investment, her work aims to give caregivers the knowledge and resources they need to better navigate the demands of dementia care.
