Junior Associate

Hannes Deklerck joined Volta Ventures as a Junior Associate in June 2023.

Hannes holds a Master's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance & Risk Management from the University of Ghent. Additionally, Hannes completed the "Advanced Master in Financial Markets" program at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management.

At Volta Ventures, Hannes is responsible for all reporting-related affairs.

Junior Associate

Denisa Kasa joined Volta Ventures in September 2023 as an Associate.

Her prior experience includes a role as a Sustainable Investments Associate at Robeco, where she conducted analysis and research concerning Robeco’s strategic involvements with various investee companies. Before her tenure at Robeco, Denisa worked as an Investment Analyst at Energy Investment Management for two years and was the President of Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship Students where she held the responsibilities for organising and managing projects which fostered entrepreneurship and innovation across the Netherlands.

Denisa holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Business Information Management from Rotterdam School of Management - Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Michel is a serial entrepreneur, private investor, advisor and board member, serving on the boards of public and private companies and private equity funds.

He was co-founder, chairman and CEO of Clear2Pay, a finance technology company focused on global payment solutions, before it was acquired by FIS (Nasdaq: FIS) in 2014. Before Clear2Pay, Michel was founder, CEO and chairman of FICS, a fintech company specialized in online banking and compliance reporting. In 1999, FICS merged with Security First Technologies, creating the leader in Internet banking - S1 Corporation (Nasdaq: SONE), with Michel as its chairman.

He also was executive chairman of Data4S, a data analytics specialist, focusing on anti-money laundering applications. Norkom acquired the company in 2004.

Clear2Pay, FICS and Data4S generated superior returns for its investors and management teams.
Michel holds a M.Sc. in electronic engineering and computer sciences and a degree in economics and finance from the University of Leuven in Belgium. He is multi-lingual and operates worldwide.

Doron Hacmon is the former Chief Product Officer for Liberty Global and partner for a management consultancy firm (David Boas LTD). Doron is an adjunct Professor for ‘Innovation Management’ at the MBA school of the University of Amsterdam (NL).

Doron holds a master in Business Administration (MBA), a BSc in Computer Science and a BA in Economics in addition to attending various prestigious executive trainings along the years.

Koen has been active for 20+ years in the software sector with a focus on growth, finance, investment and innovation as a strategic advisor to investors, entrepreneurs and executives.

Koen currently sits on the board several companies for Volta Ventures and is non-executive chairman at Peripass. Since 2017, Koen has been a mentor at Birdhouse accelerator and today is member of the Investment Committee of Birdhouse Ventures.

In 2002, Koen started in corporate development at Wolters Kluwer Transport Services (now Alpega), an international SaaS and marketplace provider to the transport & logistics industry. Since 2006, Koen was co-managing director, taking up the roles of CFO & Strategy Director, including finance, M&A, partnerships, legal, market research and pricing strategy.
Koen ended his role at Alpega after managing the buyout and carve-out process to a private equity firm in 2017-2018.

Earlier on in his career, Koen had 5 years hands-on experience as investment manager in an early-stage technology Venture Capital fund.

Jeroen lives in Rotterdam and is an entrepreneur, angel investor and a sought-after industry speaker specializing in the topics of integrated user experiences and monetization strategies. He co-founded Metrological and has successfully grown the company into the world’s leading application framework provider and a leading innovator and contributor of open-source solutions for the pay-TV industry. Under Jeroen’s leadership Metrological was sold to Comcast in 2019.

Jeroen attended LIACS, the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science in The Netherlands. Jeroen was recently named one of Cablefax’s Most Innovative People in Multiscreen.

Principal

Filip joined Volta Ventures in July 2018 as an Associate.
Prior to joining Volta Ventures, Filip worked as a project manager for a marketing tech startup in New York City.

He also held positions as program director for the Telenet Kickstart incubator program at Idealabs and as an analyst at a VC firm in Amsterdam.

Filip holds a Master of Law from KU Leuven as well as an MSc in Management from EMLYON Business School.

Principal

Stan Jeanty joined the Volta team in January 2022.

Before coming to Volta, Stan established jive.app, a mobility startup dedicated to ridesharing. He began his professional path as a management consultant, specializing in digital evolution and operational enhancement.

Stan has a Master’s in Applied Economics (Corporate Finance) from Ghent University. He further pursued a Postgraduate in Big Data & Analytics at KU Leuven.

Frank Maene has been working with software startups for the past 25 years, both as executive, investor and coach.

He currently sits on the board of Chili Publish, Keyrock, NannyML, Nodalview, Qualifio, Sentiance and SweepBright.

Prior to Volta Ventures, Frank was a managing partner at Hummingbird Ventures and Big Bang Ventures.

He is a regular keynote speaker, startup competition jury member and an Executive in Residence at the Vlerick Business School.

Frank holds Master's degrees in Applied Economics and Accountancy from the University of Gent / Vlerick, Belgium.

Managing Partner

At Volta, Sander is working out of our Amsterdam office with the team responsible for the Dutch investments.

He has been investing well over a decade and holds several board positions. Amongst others he led the investments in AxonIQ, Ecochain, Blanco, BITA, Gameye, Spotr, TerminusDB and Widget Brain. Recent exits are Metrological to Comcast, CloudSense to Vector, Widget Brain to Quinyx and Vamp to CircleCI.
Before joining Volta, Sander managed the EMEA investments for Liberty Global Ventures as a VP / Partner overseeing technology investments in the region.

Liberty Global Ventures is a global investment fund with a diverse portfolio of 40 companies in content, technology, internet, and distribution. Some of the companies Sander invested in are Metrological, CloudSense and Technetix.

Sander started his career deploying ERP systems throughout Europe moving from European hub to hub before settling back in Amsterdam. He was part of the founding corporate venture business services team creating a new line of business services for Liberty.

Sander has an MSc in Economics and an MBA from the University of Amsterdam.
