No, you can't smoke marijuana in public after the passage of SQ788. Many are stating that SQ788 is recreational. This couldn't be further from the truth. SQ788 requires a doctors recommendation and is based off of medical marijuana laws from other states, taking what works and removing what has failed. Teenage usage of medical cannabis will either decrease or stay the same and thousands of lives will be saved from avoidable opioid related deaths.

I've seen where Oklahoma passed Katie's law and was so excited, and in tears when I heard the news. My sons doctor initially said my son Brandon would be able to do the trial, and now it turns out you have to be under 18.

My son Brandon is 20 but is mentally at a 1st grade level. It doesn't seem fair at all my son has been on seizure meds since he was two and is now on four seizure meds and takes about 6 thousand mg of meds daily.Please make a way for my son. I believe and am praying that my son will be able to get the CBD oil soon, the meds and seizures are really messing him up. He is my life!

I have had a very disabling auto immune disease 18 yrs called Interstitial Cystitis. I live with only 10% bladder capacity and have a frequency of 45 times a day. It is very painful and has been compared to stage 4 cancer pain. IC patients were the study patients for oxycontin because of the pain level. I have not slept for more than 1 or 2 hours at a time since 1997. It is a very tough quality of life and you can't be very active or even work full time. It is the reason I have no children after 20 yrs with my husband.

I will benefit from cannabis oil or juice and believe it will put IC into remission. I don't want to take toxic pharmacueticals to control the pain. I want the natural choice. Most of all I want the sick children and the terminally ill to have access to cannabis medicine.

 Cancer survivor thanks to Cannabis. I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma which is bone cancer and is not supposed to be curable. Raw cannabis 3 times a day and ratios of THC oil, I am now in remission! I was going through chemotherapy and radiation therapy during last year's petition and I still kicked ass on signatures, speeches and going to hearings and testimonials. As most of you know I most definitely have a voice and am NEVER afraid to use it.

My support for the use of legalizing medical marijuana runs very deep with me. I take several different medications; pharmaceuticals, and I for one hate taking pills. After doing research on the different strains and what each one is good for, I found strains that will and has replaced the pharmaceutical medications for my ailments. If our governor could see the benefits of legalizing this miracle herb and all the good it does.

It would open up a whole new industry in our state. I have been using this wonderful plant for several years to help with my overall health and it works. There are no side effects or long term damage from the use of this plant.

I had back surgery, specifically a “2 disc / 3 vertebrae fusion” in January of 2015 as a result of a 30 y/o injury in which I suffered 2 fractured vertebrae and 2 blown discs. Twelve years ago, I sustained nerve damage in my leg from my L4-L5 disc blowing out putting significant pressure on the nerve bundle. I have used prescribed hydrocodone for that 12 years. My hypothalamus no longer governs my pituitary to produce the proper amounts of Growth Hormone (GH) yielding significant fatigue causing me to go extended medical leave from work.

The medical community is at odds with itself about my issue. An endocrinologist backs up the mindset of cause and effect while a pain doctor says that at the amounts I take, it is unlikely to have caused my GH issue. The bottom line is “It happened” and now I am required to take GH, which is tremendously expensive, for the rest of my life. Keep in mind, this was after 10 years of hydrocodone use. Hydrocodone has helped with the pain of nerve damage somewhat, but at what expense? My sleep cycle is also challenged which causes further problems with GH production, and Testosterone as I am a male. GH is predominantly made by our pituitary/hypothalamus when we sleep. Testosterone also gets boosted.

I still have to take Hydrocodone as I now have increased nerve damage as a result of the inevitable collapse of the two involved discs and then even more unavoidable damage during the surgery. My GH issues could have been avoided if medical marijuana had been available. I believe that synthesis of drugs may be good if there is not an organic alternative, but if we have an organic solution, why must it be illegal? Why must people suffer needlessly?

I injured my back in 2001. I had been seen my many doctor's, and found myself seeing pain specialists. The vast amount of medications they had prescribed for pain control was intense. Not to mention, all the many harmful and painful side effects. The medication almost ruined my life. It never fully helped me with my chronic pain, and I eventually ended up having to use a cathader in able to void my bladder. The kidney stones were unbearable and let's not forget the friends and family you lose out of your life, because you can not live your life. You're alive, yet dead on the inside. Life goes on without you, period. I was not living, merely existing.

Over 16 months ago, I moved to Colorado. I sought out any and all reading material and studies that have shown pros and cons of medical marijuana. I had made my mind up, I would try it. 20 minutes after ingesting my first edible, I had zero pain. Imagine zero pain within 20 minutes of consuming medical marijuana. I had not been pain free since, 2001, and the year I moved to Colorado was 2014. For the first time in 15 years, I was pain free. I could live my life, enjoying hobbies, traveling all over Colorado with my husband. I have been through 3 back surgeries, so even being able to simply cuddle with my husband of 28 years without hurting, was a blessing. I was able to enjoy my life, not merely, exist.

We are now moving back to Oklahoma, because of work. There has not been one day that has gone by that I don't cry. I know what is ahead of me. Nothing. Nothing at all, unless the laws change. All I have to look forward to is pain, and so much of it. Medical marijuana changed my life, saved my life, and allowed me to enjoy my life. I wish everyone would wake up and realize, what a miracle plant marijuana is. God created it, so in my book, that makes it perfect.
