I am Yifan Zhang, a Ph.D. candidate in Genomics at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). My research sits at the intersection of biology and computer science, focusing on uncovering the genetic basis of complex traits and developing efficient tools to make sense of large-scale multi-omics data.
Through interdisciplinary collaboration, I aim to contribute to advancing data analysis techniques and driving innovative applications in precision medicine and biomedical research.

My work primarily spans the following interconnected areas:
🧬 Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL) Analysis
Investigating how genetic variations influence complex phenotypes. I study the relationships between genotypes and disease susceptibility across different populations, helping to unravel the genetic architecture of human health.
🧩 Epigenomics & Methylation Analysis
DNA methylation plays a crucial role in gene expression regulation without altering the underlying DNA sequence. My research focuses on how these epigenetic modifications serve as vital biomarkers for the early diagnosis and prognosis of diseases, particularly in oncology.
🧪 Proteomics QTL (pQTL) Analysis
Moving beyond the transcriptome, I conduct pQTL analysis to bridge the gap between genetic variations and protein expression. This helps in understanding how genetic regulation cascades down to impact ultimate protein functions and molecular pathways.
💻 Bioinformatics Tool & Algorithm Development
Biological data is growing exponentially. I am passionate about developing robust, high-performance algorithms and data processing pipelines to optimize workflows for large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets, maximizing analytical precision and computational efficiency.
