.tech는 인터넷에서 사용되는 DNS(Domain Name System)의 일반적인 최상위 도메인(gTLD)이다.그 이름은 기술에서 잘려나간다.
역사
2012년, 인터넷 주소 관리 기구는 복수의 당사자들에 의해 요청되고 있는 .tech로 인터넷을 더욱 조직하기 위해 도메인 확장 범위를 확대할 것이라고 발표했다.[1]구글, 유니레지스트리, 도넛츠(Lone Moon, LLC), STRAAT Investments, Top Level Domain Holdings Ltd. 등 6개 회사가 첫 번째 ICANN New gTLD 응용 프로그램 공개 경매 중 하나로 이 TLD에 응모했다.[2][3]
.tech TLD는 2015년 3월에 출시되었다.현재 바빈 투라키아(Bhavin Turakia)가 설립한 라딕스(Radix)가 소유하고 운영 중이다.[4][5][6]
2017년에는 .tech 도메인 이름이 SEO 순위 공모전에서 우승했다.[7][8]2019년 8월 현재 .tech 도메인을 사용하는 스타트업 기업들은 20억 달러 이상의 벤처캐피털을 조성하고 있다.[9]GTLD는 GitHub와 제휴하여 학생 개발자 팩의 일부로 1년 무료 등록을 제공한다.[10]
사용법
.tech gTLD는 기술 분야의 여러 웹사이트에서 사용되며, 시스코나 인텔과 같은 회사들이 그 확장을 사용하는 사이트를 출시한다.[11]TLD의 다른 주목할 만한 용도는 오로라 이노베이션, 플릿, 이노베이션 등 스타트업과 함께 CES([12]Consum Electronics Show), 비아콤 등이[13] 있다.[14]
