CBiPES는 메타보틱성 글루탐산염 수용체 그룹 II 하위 타입 mGluR의2 선택적 양성 알로스테리 모듈레이터 역할을 하는 과학 연구에 사용되는 약물이다.동물 모델에서 잠재적으로 항정신병 효과가 있으며, 조현병 및 관련 장애에서 mGluR2 수용체의 역할을 연구하는 데 사용된다.[1][2][3]
