카도민 /ˈkædəmɪn/은 옐로헤드 카운티 내 캐나다 중서부 알버타에 있는 햄릿이다.[2]그것은 빅혼 고속도로 근처 힌튼에서 남쪽으로 약 50킬로미터(31mi) 떨어진 로키 산맥 기슭에 있는 맥레오드 강을 따라 위치해 있다.그것은 캐나다 국철도의 자극에 의해 운행된다.[3]

역사

카도민의 이름은 '캐나다 도미니언 채굴'[6][7]의 약자로, 지역사회는 그 이름을 근처에 두드러진 아웃크롭을 형성하는 카도민 포메이션에 붙인다.

2011년 카도민 레크리에이션 센터

카도민은 1920년대부터 1950년대까지 번성했던 알버타 석탄 지부의 많은 공동체들 중 하나이다.1930년대 초 카도민의 인구는 1800명으로 정점을 찍었다.[8]다른 석탄 지부 지역 사회에는 마운틴 파크, 루스카, 메탄 등이 포함되었고, 동쪽으로는 롭, 엠바라스, 콜스푸르, 콜밸리, 러브트, 구릉지 등이 있다.[9]

채굴

카도민 석탄 회사는 1917년에 운영을 시작하였고 결국 4개의 지하 광산이 개발되었고, 1944년부터 1950년까지 운영되었던 지표 광산이 개발되었다.1번 심이라고 불리는 주 석탄 심은 두께가 평균 33피트(10m)나 되었다.그 지역의 지층은 강하게 접혀 있고 단층부가 있으며, 솔기가 뒤집히는 경향이 강하기 때문에 이를 작동시키기 위해 다양한 방법을 동원하였다.[10]이 석탄은 주로 철도용 증기탄으로 판매되었고, 카도민 탄광은 철도가 증기기관차를 경유로 대체하면서 시장이 쇠퇴하면서 1952년 폐쇄되었다.[11]

캐나다 통계청이 실시한 2021년 인구총조사에서 카도민은 전체 민간주택 93개 중 27개에서 54명의 거주인구를 기록해 2016년 인구 40개에서 35%가 바뀌었다.국토면적이 1.02km2(0.39sqmi)로 2021년에는 인구밀도가 52.9/km2(137.1/sqmi)로 나타났다.[1]

캐나다 통계청이 실시한 2016년 인구총조사에서 지정된 장소로는 총 92개 민간주거지 중 21개소에 40명이 거주하고 있어 2011년 인구 36명에 비해 11.1%가 달라졌다.국토면적이 1.02km2(0.39sqmi)로 2016년 인구밀도가 39.2/km2(101.6/sqmi)에 달했다.[4]

명소

카도민의 많은 동굴 중 하나

남쪽으로 수 킬로미터 떨어진 곳에 위치한 카도민 동굴은 아직 개발되지 않았지만 여름 동안 많은 관광객들을 끌어들이곤 했다.이 동굴들은 박쥐들이 개발한 곰팡이 증식 때문에 2010년부터 폐쇄되었다.[26]

카도민 주변에는 승마, 전지 차량, 비포장자전거 등을 탈 수 있는 넓은 산책로가 조성돼 있다.산악자전거도 점점 인기를 끌고 있다.조류 관찰은 인기 있는 취미고, 또한 매년 정기적으로 나비 수를 세기도 한다.

과학적이고 자연주의적인 공동체는 큰뿔양, 회색곰, 사슴, 엘크, 그리고 다른 산종을 포함한 광범위한 야생동물들을 연구하는데 많은 시간을 보낸다.

가을은 사슴, 무스, 그리고 큰뿔 양에게 수많은 큰 사냥감을 사냥할 기회를 제공한다.
