센타우루스자리 에타(Eta Centauri)는 센타우루스자리 남쪽 별자리에 있는 항성이다.외관상 시각적 크기가 +2[2].35이며 약 306광년(94파섹)의 거리에 위치한다.[1]중국 전통 천문학에서 에타 센타우리(Eta Centauri)는 古木[10](구 로우)의 제2(별)라는 뜻)로 알려져 있었다.[11]

이 별의 별 분류는 B1.5Vne으로 B형 주계열성임을 나타낸다.[4]'n' 접미사는 빠른 회전으로부터 흡수선이 넓어진 것을 의미한다.330 kms의−1[4] 예상 회전 속도를 가지고 있으며, 하루도 안되어 완전한 회전을 완성한다.이것은 'e' 접미사에서 볼 수 있는 Be 별인데,[12] 이것은 수소 스펙트럼 라인에 가변적인 방출이 있음을 의미한다.이 방출은 항성으로부터 분출된 가스의 분해 원반에 의해 모델링될 수 있으며, 현재 중심체 주위를 도는 케플러안 궤도를 따라간다.[13]마지막으로 약간 변동성이 있으며, 여러 기간의 변동성을 가진 감마 카시오페이아 항성으로 분류된다.[3]국제 변광성 지수는 Eta Centauri를 감마 카시오페이아 변수와 람다 에리다니 변수로 나열한다.[14]
