HD 69863은 카리나의 남쪽 별자리에 있는 이진 항성계통이다[11].그것은 육안으로는 5.16의 겉보기 크기를 합친 희미한 빛의 지점으로 볼 수 있다.[6]이 시스템은 시차를 기준으로 태양으로부터 약 255광년 거리에 위치해 있다.[1][3]이 체계의 이중성은 1832년 독일의 천문학자 칼 뤼메커에 의해 발표되었다.[12]2015년 기준 이 쌍은 위치각 70°를 따라 4.10°의 각이 분리되었다.[2]
더 밝은 일차, 지정 성분 A는 시각적 크기가 5.27이며[2] A형 주계열성으로 A2V의 별 분류를 한다.[4]6억 3천[7] 5백만 년 전의 것으로, 191 km/s의 예상 회전 속도로 회전하고 있다.[9]이 별은 태양의 2.1배 질량을 가지고 있다.[7]
진도 7.62[2] 동반성분인 성분 B는 F형 주계열성으로 등급은 F2V이다.[5]그것은 유효 온도 6,806 K로 광권으로부터 태양의 4배[3] 광도를 방사하고 있다.[3]이 시스템은 X선 방출의 원천이며, 2차에서 발생할 가능성이 가장 높다.[13]
