르위스 다운스는 이스트 서섹스의 르위스 동쪽에 있는 165헥타르(410에이커)의 생물학적 지역이다.[1][2]자연보전 검토 사이트인 1등급과[3] 특별보존구역이다.[4]일부는 국가 자연 보호구역이고 [5]일부는 서섹스 야생동물 신탁이 관리하는 만링 다운 자연 보호구역이며 일부는 철기 시대 언덕 요새인 카번 산으로 예정 기념물이다.[6][7]
사우스 다운스의 이 남향 경사는 생태학적으로 풍부한 분필 초원과 문질러진 것이다.식물군에는 전국적으로 희귀한 조기거미 난초가 있으며, 무척추동물의 다양한 동물과 섬나라 새들의 중요한 번식 집단이 있다.[8]
