SITTER

SITTER
"106-A thing that sat on a sleeper’s chest. Gone in morning, but something left behind."
H.P. Lovecraft, Commonplace Book

This is a real creepy one from the Commonplace book. Lovecraft references Swiss painter Johann Heinrich Fusili in other instances so it's safe to assume this was inspired by his painting The Nightmare.

The Brain (Canada, 1988), Basket Case (USA, 1982) & Fusili's The Nightmare (1781)

I chose to make it look like Belial from Basket Case but with legs instead of arms.

While the redrawing is basically the same I adjusted the anatomy and face so much that it wound up looking more like the monster from the Canadian schlock masterpiece The Brain than Belial.  I'm super happy with that.
